I thought the macbook had 2 graphics cards running together (SLI i guess) but one of them is used for power saving mode, and one for "performance."

Anyway, I want to build a desktop for around ~900-1000 dollars. I was wondering what the best place was to start learning, any suggestions of parts, blahblahblah...anything really. tell me a good computer story even!
But all I have gathered so far is that I want to be able to run BF3 on ultra, lol.
That probably means SLI. That's all I sort of know at the moment!
