Don't you hate it when on an exam if you had 5 more minutes you could have finished it. Instead you slurped one.

Yea, I just slurped one on my OS exam. Holy shit my handwriting speed is soooo fucking bad nowadays.

So the question had something to do with writing a pseudocode implementation of a threaded (with max thread limits) implementation of a web server with some other things. Anyways, I was doing something else that appeared to be easier but took longer, so there wasn't that much time anyways to do it. I rather fucked up the first attempt. Then I knew how to do it. Except I never got to really write it down, maybe had time to write 10% of it.

Wtb 5 more minutes.

I probably would have gotten a score that is at least 20% higher if the test were just typed instead of handwritten fml.

p.s. I know there's someone who 1 stars half my blogs - did you 5 star this one, oh you ~~~

A handwritten test? >,< That's annoying. For people like me (who have absolutely terrible handwriting) everything legitimately goes faster and comes out better and more well written when it's written on a PC.

Imagine having to write every one of your posts on TL by hand ;_; Would help LR threads maybe?

Yes I know a fucking handwritten test where you get to write code. The funny thing is, this is an operating systems exam. My CPU (lol) was idling so much while waiting for my archaic I/O device to imprint shit onto a page cry (because if I don't pay attention to my handwriting it is 100% illegible -_-).

You know that is punny.

LR threads in handwriting, what a great idea lol. I want to know how fast I can spam JANGBANG or STORKUUU on paper.

That's not as funny as single process FIFO with huge I/O block which is what this test ended up being ~_~_~_~

I was thinking the terrible posts that go on in SC2 LR's rofl, imagine some angry teen ready to release his fury:

"Taasteleess.... and aaartoooosiiiisss... are looosn FUCK I MISSPELLED IT AWHGAHUGAUYGWKGUYAFKUWYG"

And he just punches his desk, rofl I can see it now. A just punishment to the people who post badly there :>

Brood War LR's are a blessing from god himself. I swear.

Yea man, takes half a second to think of the troll, and another second to spam type it.

And half a minute to handwrite it.

Ok maybe not that long, but I still consider it a 5400rpm HDD vs your average SSD

Well, I started university of applied sciences lately and I was told our programming exams will always be handwritten, heh.

Well, you did a mistake and then had to redo it, the test was calculated so you only have time to do everything once, they do that on purpose.

How do they account for useless handwriting speed that makes actual thinking time maybe 20% of the exam ~_~. Hadn't handwritten shit in months, since I don't actually take notes and just visually commit things to memory. Hell, taking notes is actually worse for me than not, because I am just so used to visually remembering things. I will actually take longer to remember things due to the huge I/O block that is handwriting and just confuse myself in the process lol.

Oh man i know exactly how you feel. I graduated from Computer Science last year and all our tests were done on paper, and they all included coding questions

Ever happen to you that you write your whole code, and then realized you missed a line of code in the middle, but guess what? now you gotta erase about 20 more lines cuz theres no space to add the new one.

So glad im done with that now lol

Depends on the prof. Ours tends to write ones that you don't finish in time to your preferences.

There is one prof (not this one) in particular who writes tests where he attempts to make it impossible to finish lol.

Oh god, I hate writing out code on tests Q_Q I have a quiz tmrw where I have to write out pseudocode, which I have never done before, and I'm not really sure what kind of "pseudocode" is acceptable. CODE WAS NOT MADE TO BE HANDWRITTENN

you just made me remember the trauma of taking notes during basic. 15~ish seconds per slide and expected to take notes on the entire page per slide for like 20 minutes. Mind you they didn't really care if it was done or not but... omg my arms were so tired -.- When I actually had to take tests when I went back to school it was a breeze to write them out though! but I feel your pain

Doesn't happen too much for me because I consistently look at the clock and change my pace based on time left compared to amount of work left.

However, sometimes I do run into time trouble with writing long essays. I have the ideas in my head but I can't finish before the time's up resulting in an incomplete piece of junk.

Ugh, today I've written 4 pages of algoriths in java. My stupid course requires everything to be done by paper. I know how you feel, and I am super thrilled that my programming exam will actually be on a computer with full API access this year.

I was watching the clock and going like oh fucking god I can't write fast enough to finish.

My hand was already half dead after the first page (out of 11) because I write in an unorthodox way which is actually very energy consuming. Used to be used to it but I haven't written anything in forever.
