What should I do ?

I'm a 16-year old competitive SC2 player. I've played every race for like 400 games and can say that Terran definitely doesn't suit me.

However I have two races that I like, Zerg and Protoss, I need advice on what race to stick with since I've been switching from Z to P and then back to Z and then back to P and since I want to become really good at SC2 I can't keep switching.

My original race is Protoss, when I had troubles with it like 4~5 months back I switched to Z and then had a real good run for like a month. Then I kept going on ridiculous losing streaks and then switched back to Protoss becuase I just couldn't take it.

I had this exact same experience again but then just 1~2 months ago with me having troubles in PvZ.

I'm losing alot again now with Zerg so my question is, what should I do ?

I can't really say which race I like best, Zerg or Protoss. So I'd like to ask you guys what you think I should do ?

Should I just keep on going with Zerg and try to overcome these losing streaks or should I just take the 'easy' route for me and pick Protoss?

You say you're competitive, to what extent are you "competitive"? Just because you have big losing streaks doesn't mean you should switch race, just fix what you are doin wrong, everyone goes through the same slumps at some point.

I would make the choice based on which mirror match you prefer and then try to play through your losing streaks.

Yeah, you can't switch race just because you hit a wall. That will never make you good at anything. I'm sorry, but that's the truth.

Personally I find zerg the best. Also, since the next expansion is a zerg expansion, they'll probably work most on zerg, so it will be much more interesting to play them (just look at how much thought through terran is compared to the other races, because of the campaign.)

when you go on losing streaks, thats the best time to keep playing that race, cos thats really the only time youre gonna learn anything

just stick at it. Playing through these losing streaks will really really help you improve

I figured that out aswell, yep.

That's why I decided to ask for advice. I like PvP alot more since my understanding of it is way way better. I guess this is just because I've played Protoss for a longer amount than I have Zerg. I think the smartest idea for me is just stay with playing Protoss for now. My only problem with Toss is that my PvZ is kinda bad at the moment but I have alot more troubles with Zerg.

Edit: After seeing that last post I decided to stick with Zerg. The only reason I have alot of troubles with Zerg is probably becuase it relies way more on scouting than it does with any other race.

Flip a coin. If you're truly stuck thats the only way to do it. You can try playing both races, but you won't improve nearly as fast as if you picked one race. I feel that Protoss has the most room for improvement though, so if you're willing to stick through the next few expansions, they may end up being the most fun race.

The only competition you're participating in is in your own head, and you aren't winning it.

Have to fight through the struggles. I can't say that I agree that you are competitive with only 400 games with each race....most pros easily have 5-10k games played already.

Pick which race you find the most fun and if you can't choose just pick random.

Well, competitive doesn't really mean playing alot. I play as much as I can. I decided to stick with Zerg since it's basically like most of you sad. I should stop running away from fights and face them head-on. Thanks alot !

get a training buddy who can tell you what's your're doing wrong. Switching races isnt so effective as learning what you low points and fixing them

What should you do? I'm a quitter just like you. I want insta-results just like you. And if I don't get them, instead of changing races, I change games and see if I become a master at it without becoming stagnant.

Playing three races is great if you don't mind being a jack of all trades, but know that you won't be a master for all three, at least without alot of time and patience. If you want to reach mastery, you have to preserver through your lows and struggles. Even when you lose, you are still learning. I would recommend reading "Talent is Overrated" and "Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long Term Fulfillment". I know Lebron James could definitely read these. Best of luck to ya.

Small adjustments. If you think you've come up with a good plan that seems to work a lot of the time against a given race, don't be discouraged just because you've been thrown against a few people that royally kicked your ass. It got you this far, didn't it? You should only make small adjustments to your existing gameplan in order to accomodate those other strategies that you weren't prepared for, not pull a full 180 and start from scratch with a new race.

Stop being a fucking John Kerry and try to find something that works against each style, each build, each detail that you're losing against. If you're switching races because you're losing a lot, not because you find it not fun to play, then you're not "competitive" or even serious about improving to any extent.

You should choose your race based on your long term goals not your short term ones.

Think about what kinds of things you really want, or really don't want, and then analyze which race is going to be best suited for those kinds of things. Do you hate long games? Games with more guessing or luck involved? Short cheesy games? Mirror matches? The things you love or hate should influence which race you play... this is like pursuing your dreams. You want to play games you like more often, be more comfortable, feel the way you want to feel when you're playing. This is really important if you want to go far, otherwise you will be doing something you hate all the time...

...NOT recent wins or losses. You can play and get better with any of them, and it sounds like instead of finding why you started losing, you switched races. Really bad.

That being said, you might truly start to find that one race is just harder for you, and you might abandon your first choice in favor of your second. But don't be so quick to do this. Pursue your dreams a little longer!
my mojo's so dope.
