In the most recent Infinite Challenge episode, where the members have to perform guerrilla concerts, the members were told to move "in units" because they have to split and perform at different places at the same time.

The response by one of them? (Entertainer Jung Hyung Don)

"What is this? Starcraft?"

Just thought it's interesting to note how ESPORTS can be mentioned on a national number 1 weekend program without anyone not getting the joke :3

ROFL, ingrained in the country's psyche indeed.

5/5

Edit:

Also, remember that time with the artillery bombardments, when the Defense Secretary told the press that retaliation took some time, because "real situation is not like starcraft, where you can shoot back instantly." Taken from this thread.

That is so awesome! I wonder if idiomatic phrases related to StarCraft have/will become part of the Korean lexicon; in the same way that in the US, one can say something like, "I really hit that interview out of the park." (Baseball being the source of inspiration)
Perhaps instead of "I drank too much soju last night." it would be "I over-stimmed on the soju last night."

Bonus points if you can figure out the map from that very small section of the minimap. Alas, I'm not familiar enough with old BW maps to figure this out.

I'm a little confused now T,T! I've heard from some places (Rekrul's Korea Story mainly) that Starcraft isn't as big as we think it is in korea, but it's being referenced on major TV shows? And that comedy skit with unit impressions was fucking hilarious, but it looks like everybody in the audience got the joke.

It's like wrestling. If someone referenced wrestling, you'd know what it is, you just don't have to be a follower.

I'm not sure, but if I had to guess I'd go for Taeyeon as well. She's "the gamer" of the group, I hear. She's also my favourite, but that's another story... and if she's an avid e-sports fan, she might just top my personal favourite list again (she was de-throned by IU last year). <333

Noone does afaik, however Taeyeon does know about Starcraft, she said she likes Protoss and I think dragoons too.

if Anyone plays SCBW/SCII its probably going to be Min from Miss A.

yeah taeyeon has talked about how she liked protoss because they die cleanly lol (then someone else talked about dragoon blood iirc).

there is a video of the conversation somewhere, but in the 30 second I'm spending on this post here is audio of it from chin chin radio show she has.
