Usually this means a network related error, but can also be a simple bug in search. Can you tell me more about what search have you done, OS version, IE version ? this can help me tracking the error.
On the other hand, I will add error logging (useful for reporting back) and a crash handler as well.

"Did not complete" or "was not completed" are both fine.

I'm on WinXP SP2, and I have no idea what IE version I have. Also, now I know this program uses IE, I'm afraid I am discontinuing use.

Shame, it looked very promising. Thank you for your effort.

1. To check IE version, simply open IE, click Help and then click About. It will display the complete IE version.
2. Why don't use just because of IE? You have technical reasons, or just hate the guts of IE

BTW, would you prefer to install a version using Chrome to render HTML at the expense of a considerably larger installer? (17 MB at least for Chrome runtime - and not a stable one)

Third highest used web browser around these days. I'm not sure I understand why we'd need to install extra stuff if we already have it.

However, IE has been proven, version after version, to be pretty damn godawful, and with today's internet speeds, ~17MiB is not a killing blow; especially seeing the nature of the program.

Perhaps the best bet would be to offer three versions, one for IE, one for Chrome, one for FF regarding browser embedding (and maybe one having them all to let use pick). I will consider this.

I have v0.7, which doesn't have an auto-update button. Do I just have to redownload the new version or is there some way to just update it?

Unfortunately, yes, you have to re-download it. (It would have been better if I'd implemented this one in the first place, but...)
