If you're uncertain you could try using an allergy pillow cover. My brother has it, I dont and I have a dust mite pillow among my three other pillows.

Even if you are not allergic, you become more and more sensitive everytime you are exposed to them. Hot room + no air circulation + no sheets point to that too. And your symptoms (coughing, tickling in the throat, getting worse with time) really look like an allergy problem actually. Remedy : wash your sheets, throw away your pillows and buy new ones, which MUST have sheets on (since acarids feed on your dead hairs and what not), vacuum clean your mattress, use a special anti-acarid spray on it (your chemist should have some), vacuum clean it again. Get fresh air to circulate in your room as often as possible, otherwise your own perspiration (which must be pretty abundant with 29°C) get your mattress damp enough for the little bastards to live a happy life (don't forget you are feeding them too). Also, make sure air can circulate BELOW your mattress too. IE no mattress directly onto the floor, or on a plank : you need a proper bed base. I don't recommend self medication, but if you have access to light anti-allergic medicine (I use Zyrtec, dunno if it goes by the same name in Canada), take one before going to bed. If you are fine, or a lot less bad than usual, you know what to do! Hope it helps!

Especially your pillow needs to be clean and with fresh sheets on it as it's where your head (and thus your throat / nose) are when sleeping. I have two sheets on my pillow. The outer one I change every week or immediately when I sweat it all wet. The one directly on the pillow I change about once a month or if I sweated really heavily when it's damp. Change your bedding every two weeks or something or when you sweat it all wet. Bonus: You'll sleep a lot better in clean sheets. Especially when you first take a shower and then change your sheets and go to bet. It's heavenly imo.

Very true before spending a lot of money, try some anti-histamines.. if they work you know it's allergy. Though if they don't work you still can't rule out allergy, but anyway.

PS- Have you recently changed anything in your room? Like a new blanket, pillow, a rug? I found out the hard way staying at my exgf's house that she had goose feather pillows and they literally fucked my lungs up so bad I couldn't breathe.
