First off, excited to have MLG coming to Orlando. I've never been to a live event and have been hoping to go as I live in the Orlando area. The complicating factor is I am currently in the process of graduating chiropractic school and will have to find a job. That means no certainty of having that weekend off so I don't wanna throw $25 away. Do the events often sell out, and if so, how quickly? I have absolutely no idea what kind of job I'll be doing as I won't be able to get my license to practice right away, so the possibility of working nights and weekends until the state board can process my license application is a very real possibility well past the Orlando event date...so if anyone knows from prior events, that would help.
And for every protoss out there, who doesn't love getting a mothership in a game? I'm looking forward to the acceleration boost as I was playing around with them tonight in 2v2's. Played 5 games in a row and got a mothership in all of them. Attacks were so slow because we had to coordinate the effort around the mothership and right now they take so long to get up to full speed. In 2v2's it is more common to find opponents that lack cloak detection well into the midgame, so it was fun.
I'm not sure how much more viable it will be in 1v1 due to the fact that most get cloak detection vs protoss as soon as possible to protect against DT harass, so I expect catching the opponent off guard to be a rare bonus. I expect more vortex/recall strategies to be employed...protoss could have some sick drop harass in the right hands (White-Ra). I look forward to seeing a warp prism drop some zealots in a mineral line, warp in another round of units and then use the mothership to recall everything when the opponent's army shows up.
Was good to play again as it's been over 3 weeks since I've played due to finishing up school and prepping for graduation. Nothing like an evening of 2v2's to get back into the swing of things. Maybe I'll be able to finally get back on the trek to Plat in 1v1.

I got my spectator pass for Raleigh about a week before. AFAIK competitor passes sell out in seconds though.
[edit] my bad I wrote Anaheim because I'd just been reading a bunch of stuff about it :|

Raleigh you could buy the tickets to play on site since they didn't sell out (Raleigh obviously though, isn't as prime a location as Anaheim or even Columbus was, and people didn't make it cuz of the hurricane). Spectator passes you can buy on site as well, they don't really run outta those.

They will prob never sell out of spectator passes, so wait cause they might have a good deal like they did with Anaheim where if you bring a can of Nos you got a free pass. So if your feeling bold wait for something like that.

You should have no problem getting a spectator pass on site if need be. Even if you're busy for some of the weekend at work I would still highly encourage making the effort to go to the event during your free time. Missing a little bit isn't going to be the worst thing for you, as you'll still have a ton of fun for the time that you're there. I would definitely bank on the possibility for a free spectator pass with a bottle of NOS as was mentioned.

Anyone know if the NOS promotion is ongoing? I'd like to go tomorrow but hate paying full price just for one day.
