What's good and out there? I'll watch anything from the past 10 years or so, ideally with a few seasons already under its belt.
I'm a fan of:
The Mentalist NCIS Jag Mythbusters Family Guy Simpsons American Dad Futurama Sliders Doctor Who Game of Thrones QI (really good, probably unknown to most here: comedy/quiz show hosted by Stephen Fry)
Anything that's like these that is really, really good that you'd care to recommend?
Breaking Bad Dexter Suits, just started watching that show - seems alright True Blood - if you're into the vampire stuff Sherlock, 3 90 minute episodes - very well done Black Books
If you like QI, have you heard of Never Mind the Buzzcocks (british pop quiz comedy show): Season 17 to 22? have the best host / team captains
Can't really think of anything else
edit; oh yea! if you like Sci Fi, Watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation and TOS!
If you like Doctor Who, you'll probably like: - Due South - Stargate SG-1
And if you like Due South, you'll probably like: - Slings & Arrows - Psych
EDIT: I will add that I have yet to find any TV shows that I love as much as Due South and SG1. They are amazing and don't take themselves too seriously.
I'm addicted to breaking bad at the moment. Addicted. I just started watching it a couple weeks ago from season 1 and i'm just about in season 4 now. Burn through like 4-5 episodes a night sometimes after I get home from work @_@

It's really well done, sad that this new season will probably be the last

This is an awesome show, one series that I just finished up is Sons of Anarchy which is one of the best series I've ever seen
Psych! Great show, the mentalist totally rips it off and is inferior in every capacity. I can't say enough good things about this show, watch it. Also Justified was, imo, very good. Especially the first season, its like a modern western with Timothy Olyphant. Check it out if you still want something after you watch psych
Wilfred...new original series on FX, and you can find them on hulu. Great show, very crude, but if you like seth mcfarland stuff then I think you'll like this too.
Misfits is an amazing show that I've really gotten into lately, it follows the story of a group of teenagers in Britain who have to do community service but get superpowers in a freak electrical storm. The acting is simply phenomenal and the writing is hilarious as well.

Lol agreed, best shows to hit the TV. Im a fan of Dexter as well, but last season was god AWFUL! But if you've never seen it, 1st season is amazing. Its always sunny in Phili is basically Seinfeld on crack. O also, Seinfeld! great show.
No one ever gives "Pushing Dasies" enough love, but it's fuckin awesome. Quaint crime-investigation from a trio of a big black P.I. , a pie-maker who can bring people back to life for a minute by touching them, and his love, who he can't ever directly touch because it'd kill her (again). Anna Friel's really cute.

Ya Archer is pretty funny, but also check out Bob's burgers
1) Supernatural 2) Dexter 3) House 4) The Big Bang Theory 5) Game of Thrones
Finished series : 1) Firefly (must see) 2) Death Note (must see) 3) Hustle ( only first 3 seasons)
I am actually a big fan of series, and I watched loads of them, I even watch series when I think they are terrible (I am currently watching The O.C.). So here are a few worthy of your time. 1) Bones (first seasons only) 2) The Office US (first seasons only) 3) Lie to me (still going and is pretty good) 4) Leverage (First 2 seasons)

Firely Dexter Lost Scrubs Desperate Housewives (i actually really like it) House
Those are probably my favorite shows. Havent seen Game of Thrones yet though, but gonna buy it as soon as it's available. I cant stand watching only 1 episode a week or whatever, so i usually just buy 3-4 seasons at a time and just watch it
SyFy show like Haven, Alphas, Warehouse 13 are very good if you like SF/mystery Game of Thrones is a must see IT crowd and The Big Bang Theory are every nerds dream Modern Family with Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) is great comedy show Merlin, Legend of the Seeker and Camelot are great fantasy-adventure shows

Omg i were so scared. i though i were the only one that enjoys Jersey shore and i've been hiding it from everyone. Seriously that show is so crappy that it gets good ^^It's not trying to hide that it's crap it's just what it is.
you MUST watch Chuck, i think the 5th season it's about to start (hope soon), starts off as pretty funny spy parody with a great cast, then after the first 2 seasons it gets epic! really go watch it! Don't know if it's your thing but House it's pretty good due to the main actor being awesome.
30 Rock - incredibly good comedy series and pretty deep. Teaches you a lot about media, the industry, stuff. One of the best series in a long long time.
Bones - if you like NCIS you might like this one as well. Unfortunately, at later seasons the whole crime-solving-thing plays a minor role than the relationship between the two protagonists. Still a pretty good series.
Mad Men - classic. 'nuff said. If you watch it and like it, go watch Boardwalk Empire.
About Skins... if you're into Beverly Hills and OC California this show might be good for you. I ended up seeing all US-episodes (don't come telling me the UK series is better, the first US episodes are exact copies of the UK series, go figure) and while it might be fun at times, I quickly caught myself trying to hide it from friends haha ^^ it's awkward at 20.
Dollhouse - weird stuff, but that's what you get from Joss Whedon. Either genius or weird. Dollhouse is pretty much both. Unfortunately the series was discontinued. (only commenting on it because someone else mentioned it)
If you're looking for some girly stuff, go check "Being Erica" and "Pushing Daisies".

oh please, if you're comparing skins to the OC then i think you missed a few points of interest.. also, the US version is extremely toned down after like the 2nd episode because of american regulation, ruining the characters and the ending of the first season (killing the show). Plus it's not really possible to replicate the UK kids into the US ones, the US tony is a dick while the UK tony is a love bird, there's a big difference.
edit sorry for ranting but skins isn't like the oc o.o
k, maybe I was wrong about Skins story-, image- and characterwise. To be honest, I never watched OC California, because I can't stand all this relationship-chaos-shit that the creators of such series deem usual and normal for "youth" (and Skins' pretty much that as well).
This thread is not about discussing series though, sorry for starting it.
