I also have a question regarding the kernal and flashing new ROMS. Upgrading and switching versions of ROMS. Does the data onboard the phone get wiped? (images, videos etc). I understand i'm supposed to reboot into recovery and flash a zip file, but the last time it seemed only the apps were deleted?

I'm sitting on the fence between serendipity and infused right now but i'm paranoid about some gingerbread instabilities. I also have a question regarding the kernal and flashing new ROMS. Upgrading and switching versions of ROMS. Does the data onboard the phone get wiped? (images, videos etc). I understand i'm supposed to reboot into recovery and flash a zip file, but the last time it seemed only the apps were deleted? hmmh.. for litening ROM at least, it didn't require me to do a full data reset and cache wipe, but for CyanogenMod7 the instructions require you to. litening was really simple, just set Phone to USB Debug mode (remember to do this if you're flashing!), downloaded the files from Odin, then reboot and it was all done! i've only been reading about SGS2 ROMs, so can't help you with choosing between them btw, this is what my phone looks like first pic is when i first started really flashing roms and downloaded GOLauncher etc, so i went a bit overboard lol. then next day i decided to use a more minimalistic look. getting a bit obsessed with customizing my phone really. Also, ran another overnight standby test. this time i disabled some of my facebook (friendcaster) periodic polling update settings, signed out of GTalk and the rest were the same. last night my battery went down about 1% per hour as opposed to 3% the previous night. not sure if its just the change of fb and gtalk settings or if the new kernel i installed really works that much better o_o

I loaded Android Revolution 5.2.3 ROM, and shit went crazy. Rebooting like all the time for no reason, and bootloops one day. Scared the shit out of me, but the battery life was great LOL. Just started using CoreDroid. Lets see how it goes.

Currently running on the latest build of Serendipity7 with bedwa's custom kernal with voodoo sound and lagfix <3 (supercurio's too amazing). Overclocked to 1.6ghz and undervolted for battery performance~ also drugged up with samsung adrenaline shot (noticeable difference in responsiveness).

Speaking of getting this phone, does anyone know if this will work on China Mobile? And are there any network limitations if I go to the USA? (I really don't know who or where to ask so apologies if I'm disturbing your fantastic modding party)

(I really don't know who or where to ask so apologies if I'm disturbing your fantastic modding party) It works well on every chinese operator. I strongly recommend you to flash the ROM as it comes with shitty useless applications that you can't uninstall. That Samsung ROM modified by the chinese is garbage. No idea if it works in the US but it should as it's using 3G.

I'm not sure what you guys do on a daily basis on your phones, but i thought i'd direct this thread to you guys considering the SGS2. Saw it on XDA the other day, figured it was relevant http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1273551
