I'm very bored right now. I have no money until I start training for my job at the end of the week, and even then I may not get the paycheck until two weeks after. While normally this wouldn't be an issue because I'm a country bumpkin that grew up hiking and exploring the back woods to kill time, that very same country bumpkin just moved into a city T.T.
I have spent the last several weeks eating, sleeping, sitting in front of my computer, and on occasion working out, and while normally this wouldn't be an issue, I just recently mined out my patch of time wasting rpg/rts/random games. After completing the entire W3 campaign set for like the 4th time (in total, not in a row), and laddering on iccup for a record ten hours or so (I hate mass laddering) over the weekend, I've finally hit rock bottom and am in general feeling bad, and so I decided it was time to call on the wise and critical voice of TL.
Although RTS games are second to none in my heart, there are a few games from a different style which have really stuck out for me. Aside from RTS games, my favourite (PC) game is without a doubt Divine Divinity (stupid name, good game, imo). I'll probably hear a few people crap on it, but it's the one game I've played that has never left me bored. I actually had to get rid of it a while ago as it was eating far too many hours of my time than I normally allot for such things. I've also enjoyed the mainstay games such as Diablo 2, the Elder scrolls games, and even to somewhat degree games like Dungeon Lords (despite it being another one of those games that got pushed to market before actually being finished). Hell, I'll even admit that back when I was around 9 years old I loved playing Runescape, and I even kind of miss it. I also played a game a long time ago called Dungeon Siege, but it had far too much multitasking for me to bother with (well before I got into Starcraft .
Although I may decide on waking up at 4:30am tomorrow morning so I can go and work for a temp labour company for the day alongside meth heads and mentals so I can have enough money to hang out with my friends and not have them pay for everything, I could also just chill here for another bunch of days and occupy myself with a nice hack 'n' slash style game. That's where you come in.
TL;DR What games would you recommend for someone who loved Divine Divinity, Diablo 2, and many years ago Runescape? Please note that my laptop has one of the worst god damn graphics cards known to man (geforce 310m), so any game past 2006 probably won't run on anything but low. I tried running Crysis for fun and the freaking menu screen was too much for it

Ah divine divinity, heavily underrated, I loved it and played the hell out of it, I was so sad that it didn'thave online option tho(but the game wasn't made for it I suppose with the story and all that).
Uh oh, Diablo 2 again. I said I wanted to kill some time, not stop living for another few months From looking at the link that mod looks sick. I never actually finished the game (got too bored of grinding exp once I hit the swamp map) so I might give it another go, as long as I make preparations for an extended computer session.
Holy crap! I had no idea that Golden Axe wasn't just an arcade game. They used to have that game on a ferry my family used to go across a few times a month, and my brother and I would play that game every time until they got rid of it for a pair of stupid racing games. I'll definitely check it out. We we're so close to beating the final boss t.t
Torchlight looks pretty interesting. I'm a little worried though that I won't be able to play it due it my gpu. It looks like it's right up my alley though.
If you want to try something very different, Dungeon's of Dredmor is lots of fun. It's a roguelike rpg, so it's very hard and generally not meant to be finished. However, it plays like a hack and slash and has tons of replayability.

This. Every year or so a couple friends do a run through of Titan Quest. It's aged pretty damn well.
You know there's a Divinity 2? It's not a 2d point-and-click hack and slash like the original, but if you liked the Elder Scrolls games, you might like it. If you could run Oblivion on your laptop, you should be able to run it too, although it might not be pretty.
looks like it's Diablo 2 +mods for now. Keep the suggestions coming though please. Once I finally get the rest of the parts for my desktop I'll be able to try out some of the newer titles on high for a change.
bastion is out on XBLA already and comes to steam Tuesday I think. that game was really really fun.
it's got a pretty interesting story, a lot of really fun weapons that have a surprising amount of depth to them, and a lot of interesting/fun enemies. also the soundtrack rules
Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2. The first is the definition of hack and slash (they tried to implement a story at the start, and then probably got tired and decided to simply let the player do what he/she wanted hahaha)
