The fact that you have Slipknot listed as emo has slightly made me lose faith in humanity (half-kidding). Real emo peaked around the mid nineties and included bands like sunny day real estate and mineral.

Since you don't have a Hip-Hop option im going with dubstep. Rap is not hip-hop.
Its like saying metal on the radio is real metal or blink 182 is punk or any other pop is rock or whatever

You know I could listen to Wilhelm Kempff play anything on piano. I could tolerate listening to chopsticks if he played it. That man was a fucking brilliant pianist. God rest his fingers and thank you man for eternally preserving his talent on youtube.

Just pointing it out that Tool is arguably not metal btw. Examples such as Dream Theater would represent the living embodiment of progressive metal.

You should also put some power metal up there, like Hammerfall, Rhapsody of Fire, Dragonforce, etc.

The phrase hip hop is a combination of two separate slang terms—"hip", used in African American Vernacular English (AAVE) as early as 1898, meaning current or in the know, and "hop", for the hopping movement.
