EPTI have a really good friend who's birthday was a few months back, and she got really mad at me because I didn't text her saying "happy birthday" until like 3 o clock that day. I guess she expected me to act all super-excited and giddy... which if she knows anything about me, that should not be the case. Anyway, today is my birthday, and I haven't been hinting at it or anything like that to her, because I know her well enough to know that if I don't mention it then she won't even remember it (especially since she is on vacation atm). Fortunately, I couldn't care less whether she remembers my birthday or not, I just find it hilarious how hypocritical she was being after her birthday.
So today I decided to text her and get a little revenge. Fortunately for me, she gets easily confused, which made this even more fun. Here is our conversation:

Friend: At the boathouse eating hbu?
Me: Just watching the womens team lose the world cup lol
Friend: Haha fun. I just ordered 1 and a fourth pounds of crab legs, all ffor myself
Me: Haha, I bet you don't finish half of it --(she's very small lol)
Friend: Haha yes I will!
Me: Lol we'll see. Do you remember last year when you got kinda mad that it took me a while to say happy birthday to you?
Friend: Haha yeah well u were acting like normal! Just 'hey' ok thanks, why?
Me: Lol I was just wondering
Friend: Haha yeah, whyd you do that
Me: I didn't even do anything lol, you just got mad because I didn't text you like first thing in the morning
Friend: Exactly u didnt do ANYTHING!!
Me: Lol I didn't do anything? I said happy birthday... that's more than some people can say! --(hint hint)
Friend: No u said "hey happy bday" thanks. Ha like jessica called me at 6am and woke upa nd told me happy bday!
Me: Lol so its expected that I do something super special?
Friend: Um yeAh
Me: Ah, I wasn't personally aware of that. But I guess that's something that you yourself do on birthdays, am I correct?
Friend: Haha obviously!... hehe
Me: I'm assuming you're catching on? --(I assumed this was why she added that "hehe" at the end of last message, but apparently not)
Friend: Wait idk im confused
Me: ...i'm sorry but I don't know how to be any less subtle
Friend: Try again
Me: So you seriously don't know what I've been getting at for the past hour?
Friend: u got my bday present!? --(While it sounds like she's on the right track, she's not. You see, I still hadn't bought her a present for her bday a few months ago -oops- but I had promised her I'd get her one soon. So she was talking about my present for her, not her present for me lol)
Me: What? Did you mail me one or something? --(I'm acting like she's talking about a present that she bought me)
Friend: Uh no why would I?!
Me: Oh idk, maybe for the same reason that you didn't call me and wake me up at 6am this
morning?
Friend: oh, happy birthday
Me: How unexpected!
