Hello everyone, I am a North American player currently spending all of my sc2 gaming time on the KR server, it is the best one to practice on, and it is the best way to get better! I recently got a KR account and decided not to ladder yet because the ladder was going to be locked soon, so I made some friends who were high master or low GrandMaster, we made sort of a practice group, and practiced and practiced, some of the players were in the NEX clan, so I decided I wanted to join that clan as well, for practice and maybe some small clan wars. I gave the leader some of my winning replays and he liked them, he didn't put me strait to ZeNEX, but let me be in NEX with oppertunities to get into ZeNEX later. I am proud of this accomplishment because I am young and many people doubted I could get this far in starcraft 2, at this age.
I am only 11 years old, but still a high level player being able to take games off of Korean grandmasters with a 1:3 ratio, and Korean high level masters with a 1:1 ratio. I may be going to SK for a short period of time to try to get myself high on ladder with practice and try to get into Code B and get into the ZeNEX team. I know my ambitions are very high, but I think it is good to set your goals high, I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or feedback, I could also post replays if you want.
Thanks a lot for reading,
Alex "NEXPanDa" Watt
Edit: I play Protoss and I got my KR account from EZPikachu (search in tl.net) I will be willing to give some lessons (on NA), if enough people ask.
Cool Story, hope you continue your career, it's best for you to do this while you are young and don't have a ton of bills and other responsibilities. Just keep it up.

that's pretty sick soon you'll have to give lesson <3 what race do you play ps? how did you get on the korean account anyhow? don't you need a sin number of something like that?
I kinda get what hes saying its the same thing with the prime clan. The people who make the GSL maps are all pretty much in "PRIME" they arn't sponsored or on the actual team but they are apart of the clan. In this instance they can have a farm system in case one of their clan mates actually gets good and they can sign them with a good relationship right off the bat.
be cool If EG or TL had this I would totally join that.
Yeah if you are saying you can beat Korean grandmasters along with consistently beating Korean masters, and you are 11 years old, and you are on NEX, and you are looking to seriously get into Code B you should have at least posted up replays first, lol.
Lol, I am a protoss player, that was a while ago when I just switched to zerg (I switched back now), I am now much better, and will be posting 3 replays soon.
Read the title properly. He said "Clan", not "Team". He could be part of the clan, but it may or may not be true. But he's definitely not part of the Team.
Example: SlayerS_BaekHo is part of SlayerS clan, but not on the actual team.

NEX is only a clan ZeNEX is a team. I am in NEX (a clan).
I wasn't calling "bullshit" by the way, just confused what he meant by:
"I know my ambitions are very high, but I think it is good to set your goals high, I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or feedback, I could also post replays if you want."
That doesn't really... apply here. That's why I asked. I don't really see much to be discussed. I know it is the blog section, but most leave room for some type of discussion.
If you want advice on your replays, go to the strategy forum. This place isn't really for that (to my understanding). You'll get all the help you need there.
I just watched your replay vs that zerg, and while it is impressive for an 11 year old, i don't think it's the level of play needed to win vs high KR masters, let alone grandmasters.
BTW next time they do an early pool, just make 2 gateways and a pylon to block. When the lings almost chew down one of the gateways destroy the pylons with zealots and probes and clean up the lings.
edit: thx for the links everyone, i've read through some of the things he earlier posted, i advice people going through this thread to do the same, it will save you 5 minutes of watching replays and replying to this thread

He was a grandmaster random player in the MvP teams and ProS clan, I lost to him like 6 times and beat him twice, he has some sick cheese xD So I can take games off of GM's but probably couldn't bo7 and win vs any of them :p

either you have the best practice regime going for improving or something doesn't add up.
3 or so months ago I got into master after playing more (went from 5 games a day to 20+) and with hard core practice I improved even more, customs >> ladder.
If you are able to take games off Korean Grandmasters a.k.a. Code B, why haven't you joined in any online tournaments before. Why aren't you top in NA Grandmasters? And really, getting recruited into a high level clan in Korea just from a few replays? How did you overcome the language barrier?
From your match history, you haven't really played much games to come to a conclusion on your win-loss ratio.
And most unbelievable, you claim to be 11 years old and (based on your post history) is able to coach and earn money from it, and host a tournament, to beating legit progamers on the Korean ladder.
Edit: Also, just for your information Platinum in Korean ladder is about the same level as Masters in NA ladder.

I have stopped laddering a bit ago, but will once again when I need to get to GM for Code B.
I have entered a few online cups but got knocked out early on to decent players because of my HUGE nerves. Also online cups are usually at bad times for me if I make it past 2-3 rounds It gets late and I have to go to sleep to wake up early for school..
So you might be going to South Korea (SK) to practice SC2 at your age? But your parents don't let you stay up past your bedtime to play in online tournaments (as you said in a previous post about why you haven't done well in online tournaments).
But anyways, to get into the Nex clan you need to be in Diamond and have at least 2600 pts and you didn't mention anything about their entrance test. You actually need to live in their clan house, as well.

It's not just my parents making me go to sleep, usually I have to get up at 7am and then it is 11-12pm by the time I get to rounds 2-3 in cups, by then I want to go to sleep :p

I'm going to China to get a jump on the Star3 scene, by the time you all have it I'll be way ahead in the metagame and actually be good for once! But seriously why would an 11 year old kid try to make a tourny with actual money involved, I don't see someone that young ever being competent with any amount of cash other than there allowance. I got trolled hard at first though I believed the op in the first post on here until I recognized his name, I'm with the dude saying he could be like 30 and trolling everyone lol.

Yeah, cmon guys he's not 10 anymore. He's 11 and grown to be a very mature young man.
Oh look, its "macroking". Whatever happened with that amazing 64 man tournament you had going. You know the one with a 5$ entry fee and the amazing 30$ winning prize. Oh that scam didn't work out because people aren't stupid enough to fall for some ignorant shit a pre-teen thinks up.
Good luck with your newest bullshit endeavor. It's clear your just a child that's starved for attention with way to much free time on your hands.
I don't know how you did to actually communicate with koreans in the first place... Look at Cella, he is probably the best korean at english and he is barely able to coach correctly. So, I don't know how you did to convince them to recruit you with only replay and no tournament results or ladder rank. This story absolutely makes no sense for a 11 years old canadian. This guy should be banned from TL, he's been trolling for 6 months or so!

I have a few Korean friends who have quite fluent English, one of them was in the NEX clan and translated for me.
Guys, don't lynch mob this dude and ask TL to ban him. His threads are gold.
And some of you were asking what's the hook or the potential scam this time? Well boys and girls, you can now buy lessons from a member of NEX for only $20/hr (half donated to "The People Fund" for charity).
"Ok, lol that post is my bro (who is 11) and his computer won't let him make a TL.Net account cause he posted he is 11 1st try. I'm sorry about that, recently I made one on this account for him. So believe me if you wish!"

Ohhh I love that charity they do great work "money for people", you can't miss with the People Fund! I noticed op has in his quote now how he's in Nex clan lol. Even if somehow this were all true this is nothing more than a way for him to get attention, but yet its satisfied me today so far with my daily need for humor so I'm satisfied.
I just have one thing to say, this IS real. You can believe me or not. I have done some very immature things in the past, but it will not happen again.
Well if it is, congrats dude I'm sure you'll have fun being on that team. I don't think I got a response from an earlier question. Up for playing some games on NA server against me for funsies? Let me know your character name and code, I'll add you up!

I'm pretty sure this is bs. As other people have posted earlier the links to all the other previous threads he has made, it is obvious he is not pro. I have nothing against 11 year olds, but it is usually incredibly rare to see them play starcraft at such a high level, especially the korean ladder.
I just watched the first replay and you even lost to it. You correctly beat the 6pool but then you proceeded to failfield and lose the game.
I'd love to play you and get coached by you, and get tournament scammed by you actually, so why dont you add me.

Hopefully you put some legit gameplays up, but I'm having doubts because pretty much everyone thinks you are a fraud. Right now, you only have the persuasion but not the evidence. If you want to succeed you probably should get some evidence. Anyways good luck kid, don't give up trying to post new things. And quit dodging.

I'm sorry, but when immaturity runs the risk of scamming people out of money, I draw the line.
I'm not invested in the "OH IS HE ON DA TEAM OR ISN'T HE?" saga, because it just isn't pertinent to me. However, when he attempts to scam people for lessons, tourney money, etc.
There is a huge difference between immaturity and a scam.
He claims to be multiple people, has multiple accounts, has been proven to be a liar constantly, and still remains on this site for months and months.
If the proof didn't exist of all these things (the threads are still there), it'd be a different issue. I just can't support a site that supports stealing.

Yes, but the reason it was locked was probably because by the time an admin happened by it, it said "No longer doing this", and so instead of looking into it more it was just closed.
Yes, thats not ideal but Im pretty sure nobody would see a huge scam attempt and ignore it.
And yes, right now there are circumstances. If nothing is done about this in a couple of days then you are free to complain, but until then let us look into things first.

Whatever the outcome of this thread, I can't imagine receiving coaching from an 11 year old. I find kids before puberty have super annoying voices and trying to learn from one? LOL
To me this looks like an 11 year old kid who is really excited about starcraft which made him do some stupid shit. Now he managed to get into the Nex clan and he made a thread about it.
I guess the "brother" thing was just an excuse to not get banned and calm the people calling him a scammer (which is actually understandable to do if your young but not very smart in the long run). He now basically said he was sorry for his immature behavior in the past and for some reason he got his account hacked -.- which doesn't help.
Still I think he should be cut some slack as he is clearly learning stuff and he doesn't want to do any harm it seems.
All I have to say is be hones and mature about things and you will get the respect you deserve. GL with your Korean adventure.

-Hosts a Clash of Kids tournament (on a different TL account) that never happens because it gets delayed (because of his parents the 2nd time). -Trys to make a tournament with a buyin that would allow him to make roughly 4 grand in profits. -Says he wants to make a lan and asks for money -Tries to join root and messages Catz often asking to join -Buys 2-3 NA accounts, 2 EU accounts, and a KR account (for 85 dollars). Is platinum on Korea. -has a YT account http://www.youtube.com/user/CeltiCStarCraft2
He definitely has passion for the game just dosen't approach it in the correct manner for lack of better words...Not a bad kid by any means.
Also I would like to explain the Process of KR clans... Some clans like Prime, who obviously have very impressive members such as Marineking obviously, have kind of casual recruiting... I have a friend who can join prime if he gets diamond on KR, who is one among many Prime members in this situation.. NEX is a similar situation, not to take anything away from them. They are a great clan. The clantag that comes along with is is obviously Lenient.. You will find alot of people in the prime and NEX channel who are all members but rather low rank. Definitely an achievement though. And chances are, most of those people, won't be competing in clan wars.
Wow so this 11 year old kid improved from Diamond to Masters level in Korea. That's pretty good. He's a lil kid though so can't expect maturity and professionalism out of him. Why did he get banned when he was telling the truth?
In complete seriousness, you have a pretty terrible history right now. You've created 5 clans only to leave every one of them, You've created 3 shady ass tournaments only to abandon every one of them as well. You've had 10+ threads on TL closed including 2 sponsorship begging ones. Also, there's no need for you to have 35 accounts on TL, just stick to one man.
You're clearly the type of person who has an idea in their head but doesn't think any of it through. Do you honestly think that your parents will fly you to Korea just to play a video game? Grow up a little and finish school before even attempting to be a progamer. Go play in some tournaments or something for now and if you have frequent success teams will notice you eventually. If it was meant to be then it'll happen but just relax for now. Progaming is really not what it's all cracked up to be but good luck to you anyways. <3
Btw, for anyone wondering, he is definitely the one playing in the replays he posted.

No he's platinum in Korea. masters as protoss in NA. (4gate) ㅇ_ㅇ
Thought the chat histories in the replays were pretty interesting... can someone translate the Korean in the first one? You can view it straight on the website :p (dunno if its just live report or juicy gossips)
@OP: dunno what to think of the story, but look at Burpies' post. I'm 16 years old and I thought being a progamer was a great life. I'm not one and I don't know if I'll ever be, but hearing lots of stories over time has taught me that its not all that it seems. It's tough, and you need to have a backup plan if your progaming career fails. Don't try so hard to force yourself into the progaming position, if you just keep practicing and get good enough, I'm sure you'll be noticed and picked up by a team with actual popularity (and maybe even sponsors).

o_o here is my profile: http://kr.battle.net/sc2/ko/profile/3261023/1/NEXPanDa/ for NEX Clan you have to be masters on Korean server or if you didn't play any league games like me (besides the 2 placemtns I won when I was bored) you play some games with them and e-mail reps etc.
Dear god, thank you for letting me born a Korean and giving me the language abilities to read the chat in the first replay. It was very worth spending 5 minutes at 4AM.
To make this short, I think this is what happened: This kid goes to some chat channel, begs and begs for a game. (Observers are making fun of him the entire time, kinda felt bad actually KeepingProS accepts, and decides to 6 pool / build hatchery at opponent natural for fun times.
I call BS. Not a terrible player though, I expected bronze level play

What's people problem with a buy-in for tournaments? MLG does this, and they have a million sponsors even. It's standard practice in other competitive communities...

He was going to 'keep half the buy in money for future events' iirc.

I'm so confused but at a guess there is no brother and all the accounts with the same ip address are the same person, who is probably actually 11. Who, apart from maybe a pedophile, would pretend to be younger than they are. The way I see it he's not a bad kid but he's still obviously a young child. When I was 11 I would have probably thought it was a great idea to run a tournament where the winner makes 6 times the entry fee and I would get to walk away with $290.
I don't think we should be too mean to him, because its not like we were all as mature as we are now when we were 11 but he also shouldn't be given special treatment from mods for being young, or a member of NEX.
Also can someone do a translated transcript of the replay with the hatchery in the natural?
I interviewed him too. I'm watching this now. I would like to hear your opinions though.. And I would like to make this clear.. He isn't masters in KR. he's definitely not bad though. I've seen him play against Gm players, and although he exaggerates, he can play well in some games. And i would like a translation of some of those replays.. I believe him when he says they were ridiculing him.. and I think a BM hatch and a 6 pool is enough.... I wouldn't post a replay if someone did that to me.

Though I gotta give him at least some credit. When I was 11 years old I was playing cat&mouse and turret defense on bnet lol.
In your defense, massing marrines in Fastest map possible could not be any more fun. and on another note, he also has more resources... 2 Kr accounts, 3 NA accounts at the very minimum, and 2+ EU accounts.

Haha yeah I think this is the best read on the situation. I'm guessing he told all his friends that he's going to be or already is a Starcraft 2 gaming pro to try and be more popular or something like that, I can't see anything deeper or anything acutally malicious in this. Like Euforia said, the kid's just 11 ... =P

Guys... I just got some chills down my spine reading this. I was literally enjoying the fun and drama of this thread only to find out im somehow part of it. I'll tell my side of the story, this was about a month ago.
I belong to the brazilian team KEYD. So this kid would always hang out in our channel and my team leader asked my to try out this kid. So I added him to skype, and at first I was surprised because of his voice. It was the one of a 10-15 year old. I didn't care much. Anyways we play a couple of customs and I win vs him easily. I'll talk about his skill level later. So then I decide to do some 2v2's with him and while we were on skype he kept talking about what does my team offer to me. Did it gave me money? Did it pay for the events? Hardware sponsorship? Then there I realized all this kid cares about is money...
I can say with full confidence that when we played there was nothing amazing about his play and I doubt that he can be taking games from KR grandmasters or even KR masters. Now for all I know he could have been playing 50 games a day for the last month but from what I saw in our games I'm just not buying this shit. That being said, the way he acts for money or teams is just disgusting.
Hopefully I'm wrong and this kid becomes the new lee young ho but for now... I doubt it.

I saw him play a week ago and it's basically what you describe. 1k Masters Toss I think best describes it.. Not bad, but not good. I would be much more impressed if he didn't act like he was the best and think he's too good.
This thread is hurting my brains. I don't know what to think of this... I've seen him post around TL many times, with mostly terrible posts(closed threads and stuff). W/e, I'll let the mods sort this out.
wow damn , give this guy some credit , hes 11 which alone should be already impressive. Most kids i know that are around 11 build their pretty bases for 2 hours.
Does anyone find this kid cute =O? I personally do, it's like watching a bunch of little kids play around and pretend their the meanest and baddest pirates in the seven seas! And then they'll grow and think back like "shit I was such a loser".

By all means we should tell him when he's being a dumbass, but ease up a little. He's just a kid who loves him some Starcraft, idolizes the professional players, and happens to have the resources to get in the face of such players. To be honest, I think the most likely reason for the invite to the NEX clan was that they just wanted to shut him up from asking about it. Pestering constantly is something an 11year old sees no problem with doing until he gets what he wants, particularly one so apparently spoiled to have multiple Starcraft accounts.
Never attribute to malice that which can be equally attributed to stupidity or ignorance.

I know my ambitions are very high, but I think it is good to set your goals high, I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or feedback, I could also post replays if you want.

hahaha hilarious interview, "my goal is to travel to korea to participate in Code B, i hope i can convince gom that im good enough to play in Code B". He should realize that code b is just the korean players that are ranked high enough to play in code a qualifiers and that its not actually a tournament, and any foreigner that wants to play in code a qualifiers can do so. Yes im code b too!

Yeah I'm not seeing the special treatment. All I'm seeing is a bunch of guys on tl giving an 11 year old a hard time -_-. This kid isn't even especially obnoxious - especially for someone this young.
So if I am understanding this right... 11 year old, masters level (impressive, congratulations) is immature, which isn't much of a surprise, tries to make some money, gets shut down, wants to join some good teams because of his inflated opinion of his abilities, again, no surprise, plays on the KR server, is playing vs NEX clan who is trolling him by accepting him into the clan and then removing him?

Very impressive, BUT don't end up like sixjax major... He was young and people thought he had major potential back in the BW days since he practiced with the Koreans. All I'm saying is don't mess up this opportunity by being a idiot and acting like an asshole.
I don't see any chance of him moving to korea at all, being 11 means that you require a parent/guardian looking after you, who is going to take this massive responsibility? Clan leader? Wolf? Some other people in the GOM house?
Oh what about school, living expenses. Do we even know if his parents know any of this, I don't know what parents would let a 11yo child move to a foreign country where most people speak very little english, it is obvious that it will affect his education.
Everyone did a ton of retarded shit when they were 11. Cut this kid some slack. Don't know why you guys are so critical.
I don't care what you say, even if he is 4 gating every game, it's pretty impressive that he's masters on any server. If he actually does keep up practicing 6-10 hrs/day for the next few years he's going to be gosu.
