This is a topic that is hard for me to talk about so please give the consideration to this by not asking overly private questions the reason why I'm even posting at all is I havent been casting as much recently and this means when I do cast I get a decent amount of people asking why not? This was especially apparent during dreamhack which was an awesome opportunity and I thank them a lot for giving it to me.
But for those who do not know I live at home to help take care of my father who has terminal cancer I have been doing this for the last five almost six years. And over the weekend during dreamhack he was hospitalized again and I was unaware of how serious it was at the time since I was casting 14 hours a day and completely wearing myself out. I just got back from visiting him at the hospital talking to my mother and his doctors and after hearing how serious things are I am forced into making a rather painful decision in that if I do not take time off now to be with him I might not get the chance again.
So I"m sorry to people who were looking forward to seeing me start to cast more again as our schedule was starting to pick up again with the korean weeklies and such. But I simply just cannot right now and will be taking a break from casting in general for a while. I will get the VODs from our cast of dreamhack up first but I just simply cannot be losing precious time with my father right now because I was casting.

You're an important member of the community and the backbone of ICCUP, but family is more important than anything else. Take care and know that many of us are praying for your father.

Raelcun, that is horrible I hope you 2 get to share the best times together with the time left... Hope everything goes well, my mother battled cancer too. She was lucky enough to survive, but I understand the fear of losing a parent, although I can't comprehend what you must be going through right now :/

Enjoy the time you have left, personally I never had the time to say farewell to my grandmother. Take comfort in being able to make his last moments with you happy ones. Thank you for all that you've done and will continue to do in the future.

You're making the right decision, I'm sure everyone in the community supports you and understands. I've always enjoyed your casting, and especially appreciate some of the early mornings when you cover European stuff. I get up early with my baby girl and often ICCUP is casting when no-one else is.

Lost a grandmother to cancer. It wasn't easy, and I was only starting my sophomore year in college. I wish I could have said goodbye and spent some time with her. It definitely wasn't easy, but time will heal wounds.
You are making the right decision, and always keep in mind that this community will be still around whenever you decide to come back.

Hey man, you have to get your priorities straight and there's no shame in that. I'm sure there's absolutely nobody who disagrees with your decision . And respect to you for caring for him. Having a grandma that's disabled and mentally ill myself i know at times it can get really difficult and a big drain on yourself/family. You have to sacrifice a lot of yourself to make the rest of their time as comfortable and happy as possible. People who do it don't get the respect they deserve.

I posted in your reddit thread too. I know what you're going through, I lost my Dad to a deadly cancer called Mesothelioma last March. Make sure that you're there for your family, and also make sure that you lean on them too. Our thoughts are with you.
