This blog post is a StarCraft 2 children’s story that explains just what happened to the Khaydarin Amulet. It has been written with the younger TL reader in mind.
Once upon a time, it happened that there was a great unhappiness among the zerg. They tried and they tried, but as close as they might come to a protoss base, they found that there were always high templar there, and as soon as the high templar arrived, there would come a great storm.
Zerglings would crash against the storms for days at a time, until eventually there were no more zerglings. Then the rest of the zerg would be forced to return home, to weep in their burrows and mourn their fallen friends. Growing quickly sick of words like “timing attack” and “metagame” the zerg moved out with stealth, and while no one was watching, stole all of the upgrades from the GSL.
There were a great many players saddened by their lack of upgrades, what use were marines without stim? Or marauders without concussive shells? Siege tanks entered existential crises, and stalkers forgot to blink. Afraid of what might happen, a group of players banded together to find a man someone to help.
First they went to Nestea, for he was the “detective zerg,” but he was happy to have so any upgrades, and turned them away. Next, they went to sharp-minded Artosis, but he was happier to see terrans without stim than he was sad about his missing upgrades, and so he graciously refused. Since he was close by, they next consulted Tasteless, but he had had enough, and cared only for Street Fighter.
Eventually, they went to Day[9], as neutral a man and cunning a detective as ever there were. Day[9] took the case, and along with his faithful friend Manfred, sought out the zerg base. After hours of careful examination, Day[9] found the zerg base, and tracked the creep tumours to find its loving queen. He persuaded her that stealing was not the way, and that the zerg would feel better if it won on equal terms.
He talked the zerg around, and the queen apologised to all. She handed back her bag of upgrades, and vowed to try always to spread creep to keep zerglings safe from storms. Day[9] declared himself victorious and went home…
Little did he know, the queen had squirrelled one upgrade away, and hidden the protoss’ Khaydarin amulet under some creep in the zerg base on Steppes of War, where no one would ever want to go to look for it.

Haha, you flatterer, my meagre sub 400 posts means I'm unlikely to have a star anytime soon
I'm just glad to have TL here to witness my slow decline into a photoshop-nightmare version of my own life.

Detective manfred!
And post number and stars don't necessarily need to have a correlation...but for a random story.....

It wasn't random, that would defeat causality

Bedtime stories, you are doing it right!

So if I rush enough zerg I'll get my Amulet back? I hope this applies generally, and not just on Steppes of War...
