And there's 0 chance they're going to give you a $300 refund for the PAST SIX months. :/

Also, what mikeymoo said. Yeah, this is very likely. 1.6 megabytes per second is pretty close to 15 megabits per second (12.8)

I just don't want to call up and be a complete douche if its 100% my fault.

Well you know, I get up to 15mbps and get 10-18mbps.. I guess if that's the case than the ISP sucks.

Much love. I already feel better :D EDIT @JAso yeah im getting 1Mbps to 1.6mbps so im pretty sure i'm paying for something slower then im suppose to get.

I used to be the one who dealt with people like you, and we had so many people calling up every other day for tiny minute details. they dont give back refunds really, some systems (like ours) didnt even have a way to give back refunds, we had to send it off to investivations to get them to see if its worth it, and that is for major issues (like outages in that area), not this. Point of the story is; if it took you 6 months to realize it, it must of not been that big of a deal otherwise you would of called sooner. You dont buy a car with a broken air conditioner, drive it for a year then take it back demanding 100% refund.

before you do all that though, make sure you're reading 1.6 Mbps and not 1.6 MBps

Here is the company that i am ordering from http://www.tdstelecom.com/Residential/WA/La_Center/Campaign/Broadband_Internet_DSL It says 1Mbps for 9.99 and then 15Mbps 34 (what im paying) Either way i think im going to end up calling anyway but im glad that i double checked before i freaked out.

are you using a wireless router or not? If you have improper settings you're going to get crappy speeds.

if you're 100% certain you're just getting unacceptable service from ISP, when you call and bitch, i wouldn't demand refund. i'd demand a free upgrade of some kind (like the 25mbps line or if they have any other perks like increased GB cap etc) or cancel and go sign with another ISP. free upgrades are generally a lot easier to come by than refunds in the telecom industry, but granted this varies on an isp by isp basis, and i don't have any personal experience with your isp so take my advice with a bucket of salt. my 2c.
