Recently the WTR1BE has joined up with some players willing to give back to the community and they are providing free coaching. We hope to create a community and a medium for members of the community to access free coaching from anyone who wishes to give back to the community. We are accepting coaches of at least Diamond and above, from all servers.

We have started setting up tournaments and clan wars for players who have no previous or little experience. This will give people who don't have the chance or opportunity to join the big tournaments a chance to get their feet wet or continue to get practice for money prize pool tournaments. If you are interested in participating in the tournaments be sure to check out the site for when they are announced.

We've also included a give away on the website for free SC2 Razer gear for those that post a response on why they deserve to get an upgrade in computer gear!

Free SC2 Razer Gear Giveaway!--ENDED

We currently have coaches for all races up and adding more each day:

Masters Zerg Coach on EU Server
Masters Protoss Coach on EU Server
Masters Terran Coach on EU Server

Masters Protoss Coach on Na Server
Masters Zerg Coachon Na Server
Masters Terran Coach on Na Server
Masters Random Coach on Na Server
Grand Masters Terran Coach on Na Server

--Still looking for additional EU/SEA server coaches.

Their time is on a first come first serve basis.

If you are interested in giving back to the community by coaching other players and are at least High-Diamond or higher, please visit this link Coaching Application Do not use this link to contact WTR1BE about receiving coaching, this link is only for those wanting to be coaches! Thanks.

If you are interested in being coached, please visit Coach Profiles and message the individual coaches personally by pressing the "contact X" person button next to their portfolio.

We also would appreciate any and all feedback from the community!

Will your coaches be willing to teach low master players? Or are they only coaching bronze-diamond ?

Coaches are willing to teach anyone who wants to be coached and we are currently in the process of adding some EU coaches as well. Please talk to as many people about this as possible so we can expand the list.

We want this to be an integral resource for the community. Not everyone has tons of $$$ to spend on coaching and depending on your location, US economy isnt the best. If you know of anyone who wants to coach for free or be coached, please send them to the coach profiles page to contact the coaches or WT to join as a coach.

We are working on getting coaches for all servers. Right now, since we are player/community driven, we have what we have and we are always looking to expand.

We currently have an EU coach joining our ranks, as well as a Masters random player on NA, and a Zerg/Terran. Please stay tuned for more coaches!

Thanks for the kind words rbkl

Wow this is a great opportunity for both the community and the coaches!

Will be signing up, and if you ever need some extra coaches (although I am not quite qualified to be one) or some other random help feel free to ask!

Thanks ~

Yes, we are currently expanding to the EU servers. If you know of any high-ranking players with free time send them our way

We just added coaches for each race and will be adding more through out today.

Thanks and stay tuned!

Thanks for your interest! We definitely would enjoy more coaches on EU server and appreciate you interest in giving back to the community.

The form you are submitting will be read by me. Once we talk over email and hammer out some details, then I'll post your information on the website.

When you add some more EU couches I'd like to have zerg training. I have huge problems in scouting and not to metagame the matches. Due to me being bad player and pathetic I make easily conclusions of Zerg having to metagame. For example if I can't just scout how many raxes he has and he just shot down my OL - I'm just undressing my pants -_-

by metagme I mean I play like I don't have to scout and my knowledge comes from what is optimal for my opponent and what is most likely to happen. If I defend stuff what isn't coming I guess I'll get a bit behind when he comes with ordinary unit compositioned timing push?

If this is truly the way Zerg plays I'm going to switch because I don't want my games to depend so much on edge of luck or assumptions.

Not sure exactly what you are talking about.

Either way, contact forms were temporarily bugged and have been fixed.

We continue to add coaches each day and appreciate the support everyone has given us thus far!

What do you mean when you say "Either way, contact forms were temporarily bugged and have been fixed." ?
I sent a message on Saturday (I believe), did it likely get through? Or should I resend?

And is it cool to ask multiple coaches or just stick to one?

If you're message went through and you received no errors, then you are fine. If you wish to submit your inquiry again, that is fine as well.

Yes you can ask multiple coaches for help. Always be sure to set specific times and stick to them because since this is a free service, we are trying to help as many people as we can.

Thank you everyone for your support. In the event that anyone sees posts about this project on reddit/wellplayed or any other site. Please bump it/up-vote and help spread the word.

We are having a great time giving back to the community.

We accept all inquires about coaching positions and so we continually add coaches every week. We will continue to add coaches so long as more coaches keep applying

Thank you everyone for your continued support!

We are considering taking donations and using those donations to help further the project along. Exactly how we will use the donations is still undecided and we are still also in the process of deciding even if we will take donations. We really appreciate everyone's support and would like to thank everyone who has supported us thus far in this project.

We would like to ask the community to give us any feedback/criticism regarding this project. We want to make this project as successful as we possibly we can.

Thank you

This is seriously amazing. The coaches are really kind and generous, and just having free coaching by itself is amazing. My personal experience was with manicshock. We got over 2 hours of tutoring done only an hour after I found this. I highly recommend this to anyone.

I love the idea of free coaching, it's certainly something that would be good for lower end players who might not be looking to pay some of the pro coaches until they have a solid foundation and play style.

Though I will admit I wouldn't mind seeing more community interaction in South West Michigan as opposed to this. Though I'm sure that's something you guys plan to do in time.

Team LiquidUnderneath it all they were really quite nice. They just got screwed up. Mostly by stuff that wasn't entirely their fault.

Would definitely be interested in some coaching doc.934 I'm at war with the other top 8 in my diamond league and I'm hoping this can give me the edge to break past them.

I Like it, it's very well presented and allows for free/cheap coaching. This is what more people need to get an edge above their opponents on ladder.

Yes please remember to show up for your session to you schedule with your coach!
If you miss your schedule time, it is unlikely you will be allowed to schedule another free coaching session. Since this is a free service, we don't have time to continually set up appointments for those who cannot keep them.

Also, if you are interested in getting regular practice partners and meeting the coaches online, please join "wtr1be" channel minus the " "

Great idea, I love those projects, normally they tend to contribute a lot to the community and "snowball" meaning that people which were given free coaching will do so later on themselves

It's just a pity that no zerg EU coach is available, I would have liked to give this a try.

We actually have a two Zerg EU coaches on the way. I have to double check my emails and I'm almost positive two if not more. Let others know about this so we can get more coaches to give back :D

Would just like to point out that I recently signed up as a Zerg EU Coach on the site, so if you're still interested then check it out in a few days and it will probably be updated by the site admin.

We now have all 3 races on both EU/NA servers. Adding more NA protoss coaches within the next few days. There seems to be a high demand for protoss coaching right now

Okay great! There just seems to be an issue with the format on your site, whenever I try to contact alsn, I get linked another site which basically says:

The thing is, there is no coaching contact form :D Is it possible that the site may be bugged atm?

Added two more NA protoss coaches

We are still looking for more EU coaches and a reminder that people are free to hang out in the "wtr1be" BNET channel to meet other players to practice with and the coaches as well.

Thank you.

PS. Please remember to keep your coaching session time when you schedule them with the coaches!

I have contacted 2-3 coaches from that site over the last couple weeks and every single time the answer I got was, " I am out of country be back in 2 weeks and will contact you" Unfortunately no contact yet. I was wondering if I should keep on asking other coaches on the site.

I tryed this out and i liked it, it didnt feel like a very professional coaching session, more like a 1 on 1 with someone who knows what he's talking about and wants to help you abit. Surely it's heading in the right direction, and i learned quite abit.

Thanks

Can't tell if this is a compliment or not . But you can go to the www.wtr1be.com forums on the coach who coached you, and give him feedback on what he did well and how he could improve his coaching style. if you feel it could of gone better.

I think this is a combination of both? And like Elixir said, please post in the appropriate coaches forum thread so he can review his feedback there as well and improve in the future.

We are all learning how to effectively help the community with this project and appreciate every and all feedback and criticism!

Hey Guys,

I had a free lesson with Alsn last night, and I must say it was great.

My main reason for looking for coaching was ZvZ and in the lesson with Alsn we discussed different ideas, went through a replay and even played a couple games.

The most major thing I got from this lesson was that now I can actually come into the MU with some kind of idea and plan of what I want to do which is something I never had before I would just start the match and hope.

I would definitely recommend Alsn for any Zerg that is looking the improve their play.

Thanks Alsn and Wtr1be for making this experience possible and helping out an amoeba like me in the ocean which is SC2.

The system is working.

When contacting a coach, be sure to contact more than one coach. Since this is a service provided by players just like you and me, for free, they will have issues that arise in their lives or even a lot of students to coach.

By contacting more than one coach, you increase your chance to get a response, just don't spam all of the coaches of one race to get a response. In saying that, please inform a coach if you do not plan to follow through with your session or will be late/absent.

We are still looking for more coaches every day and I encourage everyone to fill out an application on the website. It's a great feeling and experience in giving back to the community.

The coaches and students also hang out in the "wtr1be" channel, where they will look for practice partners and answer questions that anyone may have.

After the test, I can confirm as a coach that the system is working.

Contact more then one coach at a time sometimes they just do not have the time do coach and respond to everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The coaches will contact you through the email address that you provide when you submit your request for coaching. It is very important that you fill out each filled correctly and put in email addresses that you use on a regular basis and be sure to check your spam box, you never know.

To Lazlow, we are working on getting more EU coaches, so I do apologize that there aren't enough Zerg EU coaches yet. If you know of any places to community project known please let me know through here or PM.

Thank you

Still seeking more coaches for NA/EU/SEA servers. We are having more and more students and would like additional coaches, so if anyone is willing to give back to the community, please stop by the website and fill out a coaching application. Even if you can only donate a couple of hours of your time, that is more than enough!

We all have to start somewhere!

There continues to be a steady stream of coaches and students, more of both types are always welcome. Currently looking for coaches on EU server in particularly, and we also welcome coaches of diamond and above.

Season 3 will be starting soon and we are currently looking into having weekly tournaments for both students and coaches.

If you're interested please post here or at wtr1be.com, we're looking to gauge the interest in weekly tournaments for practice in clan war setting and tournaments for when people attend local tournaments of their area.

Wtr1be is a great community, but I have a question.

I'm a diamond Protoss from EU and I was looking into the free coaching u guys are offering.
So I contacted 'Aggy' about a week a go but he hasn't responded so far. Is it normal that it takes a while for the coaches to respond or is Aggy currently inactive?

Pretty normal, yeah. Our coaches are busy people, and it is a free service so it's kind of up to the coach as to when they want to schedule a session. Sometimes, though, I'm sure they flake out and decide not to do coaching without telling us, so if he still hasn't contact you in about another week or so I'd PM an admin (or even myself) and I can see if we can contact the coach and see if he is still available for coaching.

Just remember people, this is a free service so we ask that you be patient and let the coaches have some time to get back to you :-)

We have recently added some additional coaches and seen some of our oldest coaches take a leave of absence.

We've added coaches for both EU/US/KR
Right now we have one KR coach and are looking to continue with more coaches in all categories and servers

If you are masters and above and would like to coach, please visit the www.wtr1be.com/coach-profiles and submit your application!

We also welcome any and all players to come and take advantage of the free coaching from players just like yourself!

If you have any free time during the week, whether it be an hour or two, please consider becoming a coach and helping another player out!

Thank you

We are still looking for additional coaches! If you like to help the community out and have any time during the week available, please consider being a coach!

We are just a community of people trying to give back to everyone. Coaching is free and all are welcome to receive coaching.

If you are interested in being coached or coaching, please check out the coach profiles section of the wtr1be.com site.

As someone who just took a hiatus due to psychological reasons and have just gotten back into the SC2 scene, this is perfect! Thanks for this awesome idea!

WT is my new home for starcraft, it changed the way I experience the game. I can always find people to play with and people to give me good advice.

We started doing tournaments for the students and the coaches but anyone of course is allowed to join. There will be tournaments each week and then a larger tournament at the end of the month.

WTR1BE Open #1 is the first montlhy tournament we are helding. On the first three weeks of the month we have qualifying tournaments (such as this) in order to determinate the roster of our grand final tournament, to be held in the last week of the month.

- Top 16 players of all three qualifiers play in the grand finals tournament. How far you got into the qualifying tournament is the first factor, followed by the score.
- If we have a tie, other factors will be taken into consideration, such as the league of the players you matched against.
- You can participate in all three qualifying tournaments. Your best placement will be used to determinate if you qualify for the grand finals tournament, which is invitational only.

We of course are still always looking for more coaches and welcome people to get coached!

Thank you

Nade, you should look into our website and contact a coach directly, it's very unlikely a coach you see your message here =).

We have had a number of old coaches leave and new ones come in and we continue to keep our doors open for those wanting to give back to the community. I wanted to stress a point in that becoming a coach in no way means you have to become a WTR1BE member or anything of the sort, this is simply a medium for people to give back to the community and for people to receive it.

I want to thank everyone who has participated thus far and hope we can keep this growing.
