Anyway, speaking of the end of the world. Apparently Judgement Day is supposed to occur on my birthday! :O This, of course, encouraged me to post the following:
"I'm going to party so hard on my 21st birthday, God is going to descend from the heavens and say, 'Woah, you are OUTTA control, girl! I'm taking my children home!' After several months of pure awesomeness, Mother Nature will finally have drank too much and pass out, ending life as we know it. http://www.may-212011.com/ ."
Yes, I am anal enough to go back through and change double quotation marks to single quotation marks. In fact, the grammar-nazi within me had great trouble until I found Hyperbole and a Half (if you aren't aware of that blog, just read this one for giggles: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html ).
I've been oddly compelled to start playing WoW again recently. Truthfully, I think it's because I've been hanging out in LiquidParty too much and they make me miss my guild. A few nights ago, when I was drinking, I sketched out a picture of my raid leader (a gnome) carrying my drunk kitty butt around. Admittedly, a gnome carrying a wasted cat around looks much more amusing than the real life scenario I based it off of. Guild parties get crazy!!! I've attended a couple with some of the West coasters from my guild and it has always been fun and geeky. Though I've occasionally gotten a little to huggy/lovey with everyone, including the pets:

I guess one of the things I miss most about WoW (outside of my friends, of course) is that I was GOOD at it. Easily top 5%, not necessarily saying that is difficult, but it was very... gratifying? I loved coming in and wrecking the meters, even as a tank. It really gave me something to be proud of. I enjoyed pouring in effort into my guild! I think I looked at it as an interesting hobby, not just a game. Hell, I even wrote out my own detailed guide to help our guild with 25m Lich King (it's the spoiler below if you REALLY want to see):

Since I've done this fight playing ever role with the exclusion of rdps, I figured I'd write some quick tips down for each role I've played (and figure out some for rdps).
Everyone
Phase 1:
-Watch your DBM carefully! The MOST important part of this phase is running into the ghouls when you have the plague.
-The best place when dropping off the plague to stand is right behind the shambling horrors.
-Be prepared for the transition outwards to p1.5!
Phase 1.5:
-Spread out as much as possible.
-Be careful about raging spirit initial aggro. Get away from them if you can. Don't create aggro around them for the first second unless you have your MD up.
-Avoid standing in front of raging spirits, especially when they spawn and during the transition into p2.
-Be prepare for QUAKE!
-DO NOT RUN INTO ORBS DURING TRANSITION. Look for them and stay away if any are up.
Phase 2:
-Kill any remaining raging spirits
-Stand behind the LK at all possible times (with the exclusion of during defile)
-Don't blindly group up behind LK when valkyr are coming. If you see an old defile behind the group, move to the left or right (whichever is closer)
-Do not stand in defile for ANYTHING. Not even to finish that last half second of your cast or to melee the adds just a second more. JUST DON'T.
-For defile tips see role sections.
-Be prepared for transition to p2.5, listen for Durkk to call out where to go or head to the outerrim closest to where the majority of the raid is (this will likely be where we started, but not necessarily)
Phase 2.5:
-Spread out as much as possible.
-Be careful about raging spirit initial aggro. Get away from them if you can. Don't create aggro around them for the first second unless you have your MD up.
-Heroism will be popped during this phase. We'll need top dps to assist with going into p3. Even healers can throw up dots if they have time. Be like Riin: SMITE.
-Avoid standing in front of raging spirits, especially when they spawn and during the transition into p3.
-Be prepare for QUAKE!
Phase 3:
-Kill any remaining raging spirits
-Stay as far away from vile spirits as possible
-Spread out on the far side from vile spirits
-If you see vile spirits heading towards you, SPREAD OUT
-Vile spirits
-Within the sword: There are 2 adds. If you are a healer, heal the good add and dot up the attackable add. If you are a dps, kill the attackable add. DO NOT HESITATE. If you fail within the sword, we are almost guaranteed a wipe.
-Win loot, go home.
Tank
Phase 1:
-Watch your cooldowns as LK's stacks go up and during shambling horror enrages.
Phase 1.5:
-Always be prepared to assist with picking up raging spirits.
-Face raging spirits DIRECTLY off the side, not slanted.
-During the transition phase, do not run directly towards the LK if you have a raging spirit on you to prevent group silences.
Phase 2:
-Watch for Soul Reaper. You won't always be taunted off of, so be prepared to pop cooldowns.
-Try not to face the LK's back towards defile when valkyrs are soon to spawn.
-Help with stunning/slowing valkyr, both when tanking and when not.
-Be prepared for getting defile. If you are near LK when you get it, run towards the throne (watch for LoSing your healers with the iceblock).
Phase 2.5:
-Always be prepared to assist with picking up raging spirits.
-Face raging spirits DIRECTLY off the side, not slanted.
-During the transition phase, do not run directly towards the LK if you have a raging spirit on you to prevent group silences. In fact, if you are tanking LK, run only until you are out of quake-danger zone.
Phase 3:
-Watch for Soul Reaper. You won't always be taunted off of, so be prepared to pop cooldowns.
-Run across the arena when LK starts casting vile spirits.
-If a large group of vile spirits are approaching melee, kite the LK away from them around the outer circle.
-Don't kite him near defile.
DPS (melee)
Phase 1:
-Kill the LK (lawl)
-Watch out for creating aggro on ghouls
Phase 1.5:
-If you are getting too many stacks of the debuff in melee, run out to a ranged side for a second for them to fall off.
-BE CAREFUL with initial aggro on the raging spirits. Don't hit them when they first spawn unless you are using tricks.
Phase 2:
-Spread out for defile on the LK about 2 seconds before his casts starts. NOTE: Defile will be called out for ranged before melee should move. Don't move early, but STILL MOVE!
-When spreading out for defile on valkyr, follow the same timing rule, but really, really, really make sure you get away from them, even if you don't think defile is going to be cast on you. Throw up any stuns or slows you have before moving.
-Throw up any stuns on valkyr you see loose.
Phase 2.5:
-If you are getting too many stacks of the debuff in melee, run out to a ranged side for a second for them to fall off.
-BE CAREFUL with initial aggro on the raging spirits. Don't hit them when they first spawn unless you are using tricks.
-Pop your cooldowns, getting raging spirits down in this phase is more important than dpsing LK in p3.
Phase 3:
-Kill any remaining raging spirits
-Feel free to run out of melee if you see vile spirits on a collision course. The fewer people take damage, the better.
-Inside the sword, dps down the attackable add.
DPS (ranged)
Phase 1:
-Kill the LK (lawl)
-Watch out for creating aggro on ghouls
Phase 1.5:
-BE CAREFUL with initial aggro on the raging spirits. Don't hit them when they first spawn unless you are using misdirect.
-Help dps down the freezing orbs, turn to assist with killing the remainders 3-5 seconds before quake
Phase 2:
-Keep close to LK expect for during defile.
-Spread to the sides (not behind LK) before defile.
-Throw up any stuns and slows on valkyr you see loose.
Phase 2.5:
-BE CAREFUL with initial aggro on the raging spirits. Don't hit them when they first spawn unless you are using misdirect.
-Help dps down the freezing orbs, turn to assist with killing the remainders 3-5 seconds before quake
Phase 3:
-Kill any remaining raging spirits
-When Vile Spirits spawn, kill them, and stay spread out but near healers.
-Run away from any vile spirits on a collision course with you, but not towards other people. The fewer people take damage, the better.
-Inside the sword, dps down the attackable add.
Healers
Phase 1:
-Watch for increased damage taken by Durkk during enrages.
-Watch for increased damage on Estara as the phase goes on.
-DISPEL THE PLAGUE AT ALL COSTS. Not immediately, but it is better to have to dispel it twice than to have it kill someone.
-Infest, infest, infest, infest.
Phase 1.5:
-Get away from raging spirits as they are spawning.
-Avoid being in front of raging spirits during the transition phase. They get turned around a lot.
-Be prepared for p2 infest. It hits soon after quake.
Phase 2:
-Keep close to LK expect for during defile.
-Spread to the sides (not behind LK) before defile.
-Infest, infest, infest, infest.
Phase 2.5:
-Get away from raging spirits as they are spawning.
-Avoid being in front of raging spirits during the transition phase. They get turned around a lot.
Phase 3:
-Run away from any vile spirits on a collision course with you, but not towards other people. The fewer people take damage, the better.
-Inside the sword, heal the friendly add like MAD! The higher his health, the more damage he does!
-Infest, infest, infest, infest.
So I may get back into it this summer. It's hard to say!
;p
