Tornado hits my Grandparents town.

Enki United States2548 Posts April 17 2011 04:32 GMT #1 http://www.fayobserver.com/articles/2011/04/16/1087211?sac=Home Well, not just my Grandparents, I also have two aunts, and an uncle, plus three of my cousins that live in Fayetteville, NC. It hit at around 6 pm or so, was part of a huge storm system that swept in from the Midwest. 1 person i reported dead there, and around 70 injured from what I was reading. http://photos.fayobserver.com/mycapture/enlargePopup.asp?image=35262896&event=1228182&CategoryID=1329 Pictures of the damage around the town and surrounding areas. The high school where my dad and aunts went to was heavily damaged as well as a tire factory where my dad used to work when he was younger. Heard there was also damage at Fort Bragg as well where my Grandpas Airborne unit was stationed at. I expect more damage reports tommorow though. Gonna be calling my grandparents tommorow to see whats up T_T

Noxie United States2227 Posts April 17 2011 04:36 GMT #2 Hit my neighborhood in Raleigh.. I was back in town this weekend too.. there are houses completely leveled from the Tornado.

flamewheel FREEAGLELAND26780 Posts April 17 2011 11:26 GMT #4 I hope your grandparents are okay, man. I go to school at UNC and spent most of the day cooped up because of this tornado. One of my friends' house nearly was struck, and I know some people from Fayetteville who got hit by this.

Enki United States2548 Posts April 17 2011 21:37 GMT #5 Well, got off the phone with my grandparents awhile ago, they are ok. They barely got anything where they are it apparently which is good, they just got a little wind/rain and thats it, thankful for that.
