An intro:
Pretentious Music Corner is my blog series that will highlight my favorites in relatively new independent music. This will cover dubstep, indie rock, a little folk, electro, indie dance, and whatever else. Each post I'll cover a different artist/band. Feel free to shit on my opinions as I'm just another pretentious hipster.
This post: Shit Robot
Shit Robot is Marcus Lambkin, an Irish producer affiliated with the powerhouse label DFA (owned by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Tim Goldworthy of MoWax.
His music can be labeled dance punk, electronica, a little house-y, a little techno-ey, and indie dance-y, with influence of disco.
After dropping a handful of singles and EP's with the DFA label, Shit Robot released a debut album "From the Cradle to the Rave" to critical success.
Album collaborators include James Murphy and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, and The Juan MacLean.
Shit Robot on Wikipedia
Take 'Em Up- Taken from "From the Cradle to the Rave". Vocals by Nancy Whang. Flat simple singing. Great discoey riffs.
Tuff 'Enuff- Vocals from what seems to be James Murphy. Sick beats.
Triumph- Older. Off the Wrong Galaxy EP. Great tune with some pretty catchy riffs.

Note: My favorite track by this guy is a remix of Panopeeps by Kaos. I love this song. So fucking much. But it's not on YouTube and it's rather elusive. If you can find it, check it out.
Enjoy!
