So it recently came to my attention that i hadn't see firefly for a long time. Add to that, i found out people exist who had never seen firefly.
For people who dont know, firefly is the best sci-fi tv series ever made. The storylines are great, the sets look fantastic and the characters are compelling.
As such, i'll be streaming a bunch of it on an old livestream account. I started 20 minutes ago. Feel free to join us at:

I thought they were speaking random gibberish fake alien language for like 5 episodes before realizing it was supposed to be chinese.
I'll stream at least a few more episodes, i intend to stream the whole series over a few days assuming the streaming accounts i have dont all get banned ^_^. not gonna risk my jtv account of course, but the livestream and ustream ones i dont use anymore are up for grabs!
I haven't seen it and I love about anything science fiction! Everyone raves about it constantly, but I've been so busy I haven't seen it.
I just recently noticed though that Netflix has the entire season available for instant streaming. I think I might finally take the plunge and have a marathon of it until WL finals come on. I've seen many people wish they could experience their "virgin viewing" again, so I'll be sure to get some nice snacks, get comfortable, and enjoy it as much as possible.

But that is just me :p
But I would say, good initiative, the more people know about the show and watch it, the better ^^
Gonna be honest. I don't want it to come back :X
It's just such a nice little package. Perfect series is perfect.
JUST got into firefly myself. I am on episode 10 and by now I've actually invested so much emotionally into the show that I've decided to watch the rest of the episodes on a weekly basis so I can savor them. There is that awkward moment after you've watched an amazing tv show where you sort of don't know what to do with your life afterwards. The only way to fill that void is to live a good, fulfilling life! I'm going to save Serenity the movie as a reward for the biggest goal I've set for my self this month.
I started trying to watch it last week and I couldn't get past a few episodes. Terrible acting, 2d characters and riding horses when you've got spaceships isn't interesting, it's just dumb. I look forward to the hate mail.

the acting really isn't that bad, and the show definitely picks up a ton as the episodes go on
also the whole thing with horses makes perfect sense if u think about it.. different worlds have different levels of technology and different amounts of resources/money

Why would you ever cancel such a great show. I'm so frustrated right now because there were so many stories to develop, and the acting was quite good, and the dialogs were very good. why, whyy, WHY ??

So I just watched the whole series over the past 2 weeks and it greatly saddens me that there isn't more, though I do have the movie to look forward to watching soon. I hear the movie has fan service so... guess that means my dire need of a Mal and Inara relationship will develop?

Have you seen Serenity? They resolve a good bit in the movie.

Yeah, and why are all these idiots still riding horses and camels when we have all cars everywhere? Please...
I'm SO glad I haven't seen this show yet. With the end of season 1 of Game of Thrones approaching, I'm getting ready to watch this. Given the fact so many people love it here I'm sure it'll be awesome.
Firefly ftw. I randomly found that show a few months ago and I watched it straight through in one or two sittings. Such an awesome show. I don't get why it hasn't been brought back.

There are some hilarious youtube vids of this show out there (or there used to be back when I watched it for the first time a few years back) where they try to translate what is being said in Chinese. Most of the phrases look like, "You ?? ?? ?? ?? son of a ?? ?? baboon" With a note that the pronunciations were garbled so badly, you had to look at the original scripts to figure out what was supposed to be said.
I must've seen Firefly somewhere between 5 and 10 times now over the years, such an amazing show. I personally found Serenity a pretty disappointing movie since it doesn't address most of the mysteries in Firefly's story, which is a missed opportunity. I suppose you can only stuff so much in a 2 hour movie, but meh, need moar Firefly
Apparently Nathan Fillion is trying to buy the intellectual rights to Firefly from FOX, but they aren't budging. Booo!
I do agree with Hot_Bid that the chinese shit is pretty ridiculous, one of the few weak points of the show in my opinion.
I've only seen the movie and it's the best thing I ever had on TV. I'm most impressed by the casting. Series I like such as House, Burn Notice or Bones usually have one or two stellar performances, some okayish and some that make me wonder how the guy got hired. If I meet Serenity's cast in a bar I'd buy a beer for each one of them.
That it isn't standard sci-fi is a huge bonus. Instead of an epicsoundingname-class vessel on a quest to save the universe, we have a cargo ship full of petty criminals that seek to screw the government by means of the cutest woman to ever see light who also kicks everyone's ass. It's awesome.
