My 1 Terabyte hard drive is in the process of packing it in. I suppose this is what I get for going too long without a reformat. I could tell it was having problems a couple of months ago, but today it finally gave out.
When it boots up, it goes into startup repair, and then cannot locate the drive. I'm currently on my backup hard drive (160gb) and am running a chkdsk /f /r /v on it.
If that fails, I'll try reformatting it. It sucks because I had a shitload of music, movies, and TV shows on there, and I don't have cable in my basement suite, so I have nothing to watch at the moment except for streams. Failing the chkdsk, I guess I have to play SC2 on this crappy little IDE drive...
I am seriously so fking bored right now, waiting for this chkdsk to finish scanning T.T
In other news, I drank another 2 Tim Hortons coffees and lost. I am setting the official counter at 43 coffees, no wins.

43 coffee no wins? Damn man! I thought I was unlucky last month when I went 0-6 before winning a coffee. Sounds like you're just having shitty luck man.
Go to http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/ (or TPB if you have no conscience) and grab Fallout 1/2, Balldurs gate 2, or psychonauts (especially this one). All really fantastic, long games for cheap moneys and low HD space.

get some free recovery programs, you will probably be able to recover most of your stuff...
edit: oh, and if you do try Fallout 2 (I'd suggest it before Fallout 1 probably), install that one unofficial patch that fixes tons of things and adds some content.

Why would you suggest that quirinus? Compared to Fallout 1, 2 is a cluster fuck of "omfg where do I go am I doing the right thing should I be talking to this guy why do I start in a fucking temple isn't this supposed to be the future?"
Tell me what you think in any case. I agree with you that fallout 2 is overall better, but not that you should play it first!
BTW I'm not trying to start an argument! I'm just curious of your opinion
