Don't worry, losses won't show soon.

My friend got demoted from Masters to Diamond on the last day...I think its just that there are a lot of people gunning for promotion and some people that are about to get demoted (and feel that they ripped off the system) aren't playing and so there were just harder people.

On the bright side your biggest losing streak was 9. I hit 11 a few weeks ago

My problem is it's always back and forth in chains. I'll win 4 games, lose 2. But all the games I win are decisive, and all the games I lose it seems like there was a point where it was even and then the game just felt like it was slipping away. It really sucks. Keep your chin up though, at least you have wins. I remember someon saying they had lost 60 games in a row (literally) and got demoted from the Masters league to the Platinum league over the course of 2 or so days.

That's rough, and I can sympathize. I was a diamond protoss, but just recently switched cold turkey to random, and to make matters worse, decided I should switch to grid hotkeys (from standard) at the same time. At least the leagues locked before I got lower than platinum.

Keep pluggin' away; it's bound to get better some time... probably.

Ya, I've gone like 3-20 in the past 3 weeks. It's not so bad when I know what happened (which is almost always) and I "was better than the other guy anyway." But, lately, it doesn't even feel that way. In fact, after losing, I'm like, "Geez, I got pawned." I'm about 3k master league and even with bonus pool left I've been actually going down in points.

It is demoralizing. I can't wait for the reset. I need a fresh start.

I had a 8 loss streak after finals. Forget about winning and focus on the basics. Don't try and cheese push for a win. Just play safe.

Last night I was going on streaks losing like 8 games at a time. There were a lot of smurfs trying to get into masters ><

Slumps don't exist. It's a completely illogical concept that can only be applied to creative arts such as writing because Starcraft is competitive. You're losing because you are playing bad. Analyze your games, understand the mistakes you're doing, fix them, and react properly.

Personal recommendation is to just remove yourself from starcraft for a bit, think about something not related from starcraft for a bit (fresh air helps), maybe watch a replay or vod or something, then play another game. There is no solution, but a break is always a good idea in my mind (helps calm the rage / discourage factor)

I played for the first time in a couple weeks today. Some of the worst games of my life. Missing mineral patches on probe split, sending in zealots without the rest of my army, force fielding off 4 of their units out of like 40. lol it was a bad day

These are normal, once you find out what you need to improve in your game you will go on a massive tear through everyone. I suggest finding someone who's better than you to analyze your game to try to find out what your mistakes are then once you fix them you will rape everyone.

One day not that long ago, I went 24-3. Then over the course of the next two days, I went 1-9 (I tend to play 2-3 games and stop if I'm playing bad). We all just have our hot streaks and cold streaks

I'm on pretty much the same streak. Been so busy with uni and other commitments... gah. I just realized last night I don't know what to do in 2 of 3 matchups. LOL thankfully I can't get demoted from diamond since 1.3!

Starcraft is a game where repetition and timings are of utmost importance. It is very easy to get lulled into a certain style of play that responds to the specific timings of the skill level you are at. Now when something disrupts your play style so greatly it messes with all of your timings; the nature of ladder (being so random) can really throw you for a loop.

For instance I had an epic losing streak such as your a few months ago while in diamond; it got so bad I started being exclusively matched against platinum players. Now this really screwed with my game, all of a sudden I wasn't playing picture perfect 4 gatesI was getting 2 gate zealot into cannon void ray. It had been a really long time since I had played against that, and it just threw me for a loop so I really started to tilt. All of those carefully planned timings I had practiced against and defended were thrown out the window and I was facing all sorts of random play that you just don't see at the high levels and being zerg it meant I died a lot.

It was as if I had forgotten how to win.

Now with that said, it didn't last forever I just had to refocus on my mechanics/fundamentals and not worry about the timings so much. Expect the unexpected and get my scouting back in gear to catch the unexpected and you know what it was all my game really needed.

So a long story short, just go back to the basics and you will come out of it a better player then you were before.
