The offering of a lesson is really almost cliche in starcraft BM but then again its cliche because it works! His usage of the word bud is patronizing (i mean honestly thats the kind of thing your 3rd grade teacher says to you when you are sad) and patronization is really one of the BMers primary goals. He points out that we are not friends, and implies that I do it as a joke rather than the clear implication that I am in fact just a lonely nerd in search of some attention. I mean apparently I suck at this game so him saying that my goal is really to get his acceptance is really quite good. What is really good here is how he states his superiority over me while at the same time making me look immature and desperate. Next he states his opinion as fact. This really is important, because the truth is secondary to what you think as long as you phrase it properly. Making a personal attack and saying that I have some sort of issue takes it beyond the game and into the realm of my personal life. Once again making me seem crazy and clingy. The next step and the finishing blow is the facade of giving advice. I do this often myself using the line "why are you bming me under your clan name, it's making your whole team look bad...". Essentially catz is using an adaptation of this, saying that he doesn't care if I make a fool of myself, but its not fair for me to embarrass my team. This tactic is really good at making people stop what they are doing and think about how to respond intelligently rather than with something like "fuck you" (although you often just see a good ol' fuck you). Finishing the post with a very side-handed GL with your application is a nice addition, making that whole BM post look slightly more mannered. Really quite well written, thanks for sharing. edit: if you watch the video I think you can understand enough of my personality to realize that I'm the kind of person that jokes around a lot. I had you on 'real friend id' or whatever after u asked for it, then you bm'd me in the ladder, I removed you, then you msg'd me to say you're not bm, and proceeded to be a douche "because I already thought u were a douche anyways". When I say you seem to have some issues, I mean you seem to have some issues, you clearly can't identify the line between being funny and being annoying. When I told you multiple times now, that we are not friends, I ment it, I still mean it, despite how funny you think you may be, or the fact that you state that you're not being serious doesn't matter at all. Lets see, after I friend removed you, we played a zvz on xel naga and opened with a nice gl hf etc and then when you lost to corruptors because you kept going muta vs corruptors, u flamed me and said that my build was stupid and u'd never lose to it again and whatever else you were blabbering. After that we played close positions on Metalopolis, u were going for nonstop ling production, so I did the same, except I got banelings and won. you said "I should've seen this coming knowing who i was playing against" or something along those lines. Then you tried to add me to Facebook, Skype and Bnet real friend ID again which I had already removed previously and you raged at me for doing. [?] A week later or so you bad mouthed my team when gosi[terran] joined ROOT, saying something along the lines of "some teams care more about skill than manner, he's a perfect match for ROOT" which I honestly laughed at because YOU of all people wrote it. I don't hold "Grudges" either, so you can take that "difference between us" out of the equation. But I do have a pretty good memory, and I don't have any social or mental issues. For example, I had an argument with your teammate Mihai once, because he rushed to bm me during a clanwar, but he, unlike you apologized not long after and I did too because altough he started the bm, I was a bit of a douche back, met him at MLG where he apologized again although it was not nessesary anymore. and we've been cool ever since. You on the other hand, I have no respect for. Because instead of trying to make things better you make them worse every time you open your mouth. You're just a big arrogant rager. I am not trying to make you look desperate or bad with my post like you were saying either, you already do that with your video. I do understand that you're just trying to be funny and whatnot, and hey, some people im sure will find you hillarious! all i'm saying is you shouldn't be such a hypocrite all the time or try to bash on other people or their teams every time you open your mouth. Do I care about you? absolutely not! but i'd much appreciate it if you stopped talking to or about me and my team. When I match you in ladder all you do is talk smack so much that I had to block communication in order to focus whenever I play you - then I unblocked you for the tournament in which we played each other in. Second off, in later games we played you enacted passive bm (making me kill every one of your buildings, not responding to gl hf, leaving without gg etc...). I don't like wasting time eliminating every single one of your buildings when the game is already over. Yea, I don't claim to be a super mannered sheth, but I would definitely not consider myself a BM person in general I just reply. I'd say you are being to an extent, quite hypocritical. I will admit to my own reciprocation to people that bm me in ladder but if you are going to make accusations like this at least do the same. To me, its all in good fun, but I wouldn't bring it up and say that I have a bad attitude over like 3 games we played. As you yourself know, I don't really bm beyond ladder. | ||
