Hello fellow Liquidians, lately there has been a plethora of threads popping up on TeamLiquid offering free sc2 coaching. It got to a point that a dedicated thread was started to help keep the forums clean, I am here today to announce a new project that takes things a few steps further. The site aims to be a one stop shop for free coaching and finding help to improve your game.
I present to you:
TheSC2School.com we have gathered some great coaches and you could be taking a lesson from one with just a few clicks!
Sites like teamliquid.net, screddit et al are a great resouce for learning, but they are also swamped with posts on a whole host of things that can crowd out the real gems of knowledge. If you are new to the game it can be very hard to know which PvZ strat you read about in the strategy forum is actually the best for a certain situation.
Our site is for the people who want to get better, but don't want to do it alone. Those who can not afford to pay for professional coaching shouldn't have to “make do” with reading strategy forums and watching videos, while those resources are wonderful, its always better to have someone there to talk things out with and to point out, in real time, mistakes you are making or ways you could be more efficient.
We welcome anyone who wishes to learn, especially those who wish to share what they learn with others. Our mission is simple, to add to the wealth of resources available to SC2 players, to help those in need and to become better gamers ourselves by helping you become better gamers.
In the near future we hope to provide a Practice Partner database, I have many ideas for future events such as funky fun tourneys and show matches, but my aim for the site is for it to be community lead. If you guys have ideas you would like to see implemented then please let us know!

Actually, we have an online system could be used to set up to do that efficiently. It is not designed to do free coaching, but i guess it will work.
Basically the idea is to have an expert offer lessons, once the expert sign up, he or she will have a very short link which could be used to all the clients to book sessions. (e.g: http://ex.gs/4mVG5B) Anyone could book a session and the expert need to approve it. After that they could exchange information about the service. In our case, it will be the id in SC2.
The service is not necessarily free, you could set price for your service and we will handle the money, send the profit to you whenever you want, but I suppose many of the players here would be happy to offer free service. If you would like to try, just go to http://expert.io
Hopefully, this would make the free coaching easier.

I'll take a look at that, for now I'm happy just having the site and building a booking system in php in my spare time (or even better if an expert could do it for me lol).

This is true... I have a wife and 2 kids that often pull me away from the game. Hell, I'm afk right now because I left myself logged in but had to go to work.
We can meet up some time and go over a few things np, it's just hard to do things in game unless I plan them out ahead of time.

So, im a coach on the site (Snow) and i must say that this is pretty awesome. Through this and bnet i have like 6 hours of coaching im doing tomorrow and id like to thank all the people that have signed up so far and i hope the site gets enough attention and as good reception as possible as its pretty much badass.

How noobie of players will you coach? I am brand new to SC2 (installed it yesterday), I'm looking for someone to essentially show me the ropes.
I've played through the SC & Brood War campaigns although not with any sort of finess (more like scraped/"Power Overwhelming'd" my way through). I know the basics and how the general units work but I can't grasp Macro/Micro (especially doing them at the same time), don't really know how/when to build my army, manage resources, etc.
Is there room for one such as me in the school?

We will take on students of any skill level, so long as they have a willingness to learn.
On a related note..... we filled our initial coaching roster with our 3rd Terran coach... a top200 player..... check that shit out!

I think every coach we have on the roster has already got some work, and we have more requests coming in so it goin well so far! Lets just hope the interest remains in the long term from all parties, coaches, players and the community.

Well I got masters now, so if that helps when you decide on more coaches 
I was wondering how much would have to be done to convince a mod to feature this thread/a similar one. It is certainly regarding something that would have a huge benefit to the comunity, so its in the right sort of area. It might be worht pm'ing a mod and asking.

I think its one of those things that mods decide, if they deem it worthy we will get a spotlight.

For those wondering how the sessions are like-..
Just finished my 1st session from Emythrel..1stly vs the AI to check your noob level ;P (mechanics, BO etc), then 2 practice games Vs another student where he talks you through the game - making workers, expanding, scouting, supply block check, upgrades..was simply amazing and a lot of learning , won 1 of the 2 games to :D !
Cant wait for the next session, thanks Emythrel, u rock!
PS- Got a sweet brit accent too lol

This won't get spotlighted because you are competing against gosucoaching, close friends of the mods/admins.
If you can organize as well as gosucoaching, you may have a chance. Otherwise, there's no reason to pay for lessons from someone without a reputation.

Anywho, in our first weekend open for business we had over 9000 total page views and over 1200 unique hits..... not bad at all! Lets hope the interest stays high, we have already taken on a bunch of students and the more people interested in getting lessons means we can take on more coaches (of which we have a whole bunch waiting to be added to the team) so please, if you want a lesson then make yourself known!

Good luck this is a great development for all kinds of players. Nothing beats a person looking over your shoulder telling you exactly what you're doing right/wrong. 1 on 1 coaching is invaluable.

Yeah, Im sad the site is down. I played my placement matches got in gold. Then played lke 5 games and moved up to plat. Now im stuck and I haven't won a game since... Im so lost in every game.
