I'm going to India (hopefully) in the beginning of march, if not it will be in the middle of march.
I'm going to Delhi and Goa.
What I'm looking for is a yoga course and meditation course. Does anyone know of a good place in Delhi and/or Goa? Is there a good place to surf in Goa?
Also, what other things should I see while I'm there? It can be everything from restaurants to monkeys(I actually really want to see monkeys :D)

bring an umbrella to shield yourself against the rain of cow piss thats going to come at you x.X
anyhow, seen a few pictures at a friends place, the big buildings all looks nice there. The "normal" streets however have a lot of pretty disgusting (for western (un-)expectations at least) stuff on them. Can't remember any names or places though. But it's still gonna be one hell of an experience i guess good luck

Yoga is overrated imo.... YOu are going to 2 really nice places in India so you shud have no probs actually. However I do recommend Bombay over Delh anyday!! HF HF!

make sure you buy bottled water from supermarkets ONLY do not buy from street dealers, occasionally they will refill bottles with the safety seal on, i took one sip and it tasted different, but that was enough i got the worst case of god knows what from that, puked 7 times in a row
crush every water bottle you buy so it cant be refilled

I do yoga in Norway and I love it But it would be nice to see if there is some new stuff to learn in India, and if I'm not learning anything new it would still be nice to start every day with yoga
Maybe I'll go to Bombay instead of Delhi, I'll look into it

Thank you. Did the same thing in the Gambia, but wouldn't have done it in India if you didn't say I should

also...be wary of the smell that will hit you when they open the door to your airplane. EWWWW
what else... if you see someone poopin on the side of the street, dont stare, its just... common
its ok for a 5 star hotel to have a mouse running around
dont bother with a fancy restaurant if their meat is hanging outside in the air with flys buzzin around

I had a great time while I was working in India. I went to Chennai and even though the area I was staying in wasn't very touristy I still have good memories. Definitely something everyone should experience at least once.

If you can get past the people taking a shit on the side of the road it can be a lot of fun I used to wander around quite a bit when I was bored or when the power went out and I couldn't get any work done. The people are really nice. Crossing roads requires balls of steel the first time you do it but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine.
I just loved going to all the shops and buying a heap of random food I'd never seen before. Some of it wasn't all that great but other things are so tasty you'll be back for more. Everything is so cheap it doesn't really matter if you make a mistake, just be adventurous.
There was a guy who ran a general store that was always happy to see me because I never wanted change (I couldn't be bothered learning the coins). He sold the tastiest chip type things I'd ever eaten.
Like others have said just drink bottled water. Remember to keep a bottle of water in the bathroom too so you can use it to clean your teeth.
I luckily only got sick once and it was only for around 2 days (out of ~30) but you feel pretty rotten either way.
Only other pro tip I can think of apart from the whole bottled water thing is to make sure you buy an electric mosquito repellant thing and have it on in your bedroom non stop. A mosquito net is good too but I found a combination worked best.
Looks something like this:

I spent the first few nights without it and I looked like I had chicken pox it was so bad. I'm guessing this would vary by area though. I'm not sure how badly mosquitos effect Delhi and Goa.
Most important thing is to have a good time. India is a lot of fun if you want it to be, there is a lot of tasty food to be had (which I am a big fan of).

Thanks guys, it's much appreciated! I will definitely get one of those mosquito-thingies!

Yes, I will bring my Canon EOS and a portable recorder. I'm thinking of making some music based on samples from the indian music/noises/sounds that I record there. Will post them here for sure! Also, if you want to travel to India you can join me and my friend

Yeah alcohol is outrageously cheap. I don't really drink all that much but the people I stayed with had an absolutely great time at an "all you can drink" bar one night. The locals were shocked at how much they could drink from what I heard
|
Haha, sounds sick
Thanks for the tip, but I'm not really a fan of alcohol to be honest.

It's this monday that I'm leaving. Any last tips?
