About the mouse - get something that's both comfortable and has good perfomance(how fast it'll go before it stops accelerating/starts skipping, whether it does weird stuff occasionally (philips twineye >.<), whether you can turn off drift control(probably gonna get some flame on me, but I can actually notice the difference), not the 583967dpi bullshit), not specs. How to check? ESReality are for real. The deathadder is missing from that page but they benchmarked it in their review. About the mx518 everybody keeps mentioning - totally worth it, only reason I ain't using it is that the MMB broke (excessive usage in SC2/blender3D/whatnot) and, well.... bulgarian warranty service >.< .

it was close but i decided on the steelseries 4hd hard plastic mouse pad, which was specifically designed for laser mouses. it's 20 dollars, so it's medium priced and has a lot of cool features. if they were in stock i would have gotten the icepad aka the experience i-2 glass mousepad, since it seemed that it was the most durable. i think the reason it's out of stock is because of their new aluminum one, but i didn't want to get that since it was too expensive and prone to finger prints. hope that helped ^^

I think I'm going to stick with the Imperator and the Qck mini. At 6.99, It won't be a problem if things go wrong.

Are you sure the mini is big enough? I had the medium sized QcK (Starcraft 2 version) and it was too small for me. Make sure you look at the dimensions and such.

Find the one that best molds into your hand and buy it online. It's all about feeling good and comfortable. that's the special thing with that exact mouse, IT FUCKING MOLDS INTO YOUR HAND. it's not just something you can get a comfy grip on, when you've got your hand on it it becomes a freaking part of your hand, THAT is how awesome it is.

I echo what has been said before: COMFORT > ALL. Try the mouse if at all possible, and then figure out which mouse is most comfortable. I use a razer deathadder with a goliathus mousepad, and it works great, but you need to find the mouse for you.

The one I am using now is even smaller, you know those standard school/office ones?

(Objections can be raised now, lol.) To go with the mouse however, I can't decide whether to go with the SteelSeries QcK mini or, as Razer tells me, the Sphex. All I know is that the Imperator has a laser sensor, if that would make a differece. Also, the reason I would opt for a QcK mini instead of the regular one is because of size. I've been using those brandless mousepads that are 180x220x2mm for years now. Therefore, right now, I prefer the mini (but how good can it be at $7?) over the Sphex. If the Sphex is better though, I guess I could cope with its size. Thanks for your help! I have that exact setup that you are looking at and I cannot be happier. The mouse fits comfortably and glides very smoothly over the mouse pad. I definitely saw an improvement in my precision since I upgraded. Previously, I had a logitech mouse and some random hard gaming mouse pad. If it weren't for the mouse correction it'd be perfect. :p
