Fuck that bullshit, fuck the people that did the bombing in Buendia Ave, Edsa Makati.. My friend/officemate's girlfriend was one of the victims and now she's dead.. this is bullshit, she just tried the bus because she was going to get her glasses and then this bombing bullshit happens. If someone hates the fucking officials of this country why the fuck should they bomb civilians. Most cowardly absurd shit I've every seen, I have more respect to a mugger than to this assholes who wants to make a point by bombing people.

I'm so angry for my friend and can feel empathy for his loss so much, If it was my girl it's possible I might kill myself as well.

yeah man, now the problem with the investigation is that they don't know if it's a former military official or the Abu Sayaf Bandits because they saw that the improvised bomb is from a mortar. Which can be only found in military bases, it's really sick man.

Also, I'm not blaming the extremist because I think this has something to do politically in our country. Every once a year some anti-government faction blows shit up in a certain event whether it's valentines or whatever. The bombing took place in the Birthday of our president's mom (cory aquino)

Not quite. Sadly, some people don'T think with their head, but with their heart, who is then told to do x and y by someone else.

OP, I'm truly sorry to hear that and I am sorry for your friend as well.

Really sorry Sad.
Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crown and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness.

I don't see how a 3-word subjective sentence could imply any ignorance. Shall I pull out the dictionary definition of ignorance, or can you admit that you read a bit too much into the poster's mind?

Right, that religion can cause/aid/abet/justify events like this. How does that point to ignorance? If you're implying that the post was implying that "all instances of religion everywhere cause violence," I'd say you're stretching.

He was pretty much implying that this happened because of religion. He's not mentioning anything else and from the sarcastic way he said it, it wouldn't be a stretch to take it as him thinking that religion was the prime reason and perhaps the only reason this happened. Internet new-atheists say these kind of things constantly.

Whatever, fuck this kind of polemics.

It's a serious shame that these kind of things happen. I can't imagine something like this happening near me or to anyone I know.

Hm. Yeah OK I see where you're coming from. I'd prefer not to presume to know what level of involvement he was implying religion had, but yeah I do oppose militant atheists rallying against religion at the sight of any and all tangentially-related-to-religion-negative-events. I'd still call it more knee-jerk antireligious sensationalism rather than ignorance, though.

Though I'd hope you agree with me that PH wasn't helping one bit in any direction.

religion just seems archaic to me, it was just a way to control serfs during the agricultural times. seems useless now. i hope civilization grows out of it sooner rather than later

and yes I know that religion has value. it has caused both good things and bad things throughout history, definitely. but I believe that the bad have far out weighed the good.

yes but comments like these have no value because you can't just get rid of religion its not possible try it i dare you. you can make huge highperch ideological judgments that are true, but if they have no use in application to reality then what value do they have? just stop it stop it stop it

edit: and btw, since your handle is whojohnisgalt, if you're one of those assholes who takes what ayn rand creates out of mostly thin air as a good analogy for the real world, stop it stop it stop it.

Wow.. someone fucking died here and you guys are bringing up stupid religious/atheist debates.

The article doesn't even state whether religion is even related to the bombing.

As for the op... I sincerely hope the best for you and anyone else who was affected by this tragedy.

I am 100% sure the bombing was religious. In fact I can guarantee you their religion.

What happened here wasn't the fact someone "died." It is about someones murder.

My condolences.

My condolences as well.
Do the gov find out who are the ones behind this ?

I hope that they find them out and then bring entire army to eliminate them. Civilian bombing is just unacceptable.

I've searched every news site everywhere, there are no articles mentioning anything about religion. How can you be 100% sure?

Let's not derail this blog into religious debate.

wow .. this made me lol irl .. srsly

anyways .. I would blame every zealous bombing on religion if i was myself 2 years ago ..

now i would just blame the irrationality of people and all of the things that causes irrationality. you can say religion is included but so is mass media, patriotism and every -ism except rationalism that comes into mind ..

if you think religious extremists then their goal is to serve a Divine Being, people have been like this for eons .. well not eons but time in memorial :D

if you think 'patriots' like chechnyans or -insert rebel group name here- ..its just that they are being lead by a very charismatic leader.

both having a link with irrationality .. and your goals are set by your mind. goal varies between different people :D

So fucking bullshit man. Condolences.

I feel for you, my dad used to work in Alabang before he moved to a company in Makati but still, he rides the bus along EDSA. This is just bullshit, terrorists killing civilians to make a statement just to get the attention of the government that's either too slow or just does not give a flying fuck about anything.

So fucking bullshit man. Condolences.

I feel for you, my dad used to work in Alabang before he moved to a company in Makati but still, he rides the bus along EDSA. This is just bullshit, terrorists killing civilians to make a statement just to get the attention of the government that's either too slow or just does not give a flying fuck about anything.

why did people vote for aquino if they wanted fast paced is beyond me .. kinda like how obama is now lol ..

what happened yesterday was tragic .. fuck i came from Davao to Cebu via bus ride to CDO on a peak season (dec 31) .. i was really worried about bombing attacks especially if you are from Mindanao ..

and now they 'increased' their alert level .. you'd think extremist groups would be dumb enough to launch another attack when alarms are up .. srsly people never learn .. with a country as volatile as ours id prioritize peace and order like what the mayor in Davao is doing .. damn them

Not even gonna comment on why people vote for aquino =\

Sorry for your loss man, I probably wouldn't know what to do if I were in your friend's shoes, but its good to know that he has people like you who are legitimately worried for his well-being.

It's on the news right now on QTV, this is so sad. The parents of the guy and girl are really crying and sending their messages to the government....the mom of the girl actually said that the government only listens to the people in the high positions, and how they don't give a fuck about the masses unless they beg..this is so bullshit.

I hope San Miguel wins.

Also just saw this on the news (yes I've read the blog but couldn't post at the office). Condolences to Irish's family.

Shit happens man, and seriously, I'd rather trade places with her because this kind of lunacy just hurts people who don't really deserve to die. Some people should have lives of happiness and the people who did this, blinded by their fanaticism to whatever cause they hold dear, are depriving it to them. Also, damn the guys who stole her stuff... they got her wallet, cellphone and all her shit. Can't even give respect to the dead.

As for the politics here; it really is about WHO you know; not about what you know. Makes me want to consider going to law school so I can "secure" my position or something.

Anyways, anyone up for an MSL/OSL/GSL marathon somewhere in Manila where we can just chill and talk stuff? I need to get to know new people; seeing the same persons every day just kills all desire to interact with them.

Is this the first time in Philippines?

The bus is owned by a church, but it's being targeted by some other faction.

My condolences to the families

I wouldn't be too sure with Islam extremists, I'm don't think that the conflict over at Mindanao is heating up or something.

Sometimes it's just the poor people who resort to violence to get their voices heard by a government attracted to cash. Ironically, it's possible that the same people voted for the people in our government right now.

Terrorism sucks.
I often wish that people weren't so afraid of all the basic rights we have decided upon. Maybe they think they can't handle the responsibility that comes with power.
Freedom has always been a terrifying thought to most people.

People always start pointing fingers at religions, political parties & ideologies when something bad happens. We all know those are mere tools.
If they could only see where the other fingers point when they do that, that's where all the violence, hate & fear comes from.
