Loophole: so you're on 2l. How long have you been on the team?
Liquid`Corbalt: I dunno, a couple months perhaps ;(
Liquid`Corbalt: Thats a good answer, maybe 4-6 months?
Loophole: You're still in liquid though right? what's the point of 2l?
Liquid`Corbalt: Well, hmm. 2l is kind of like a team, whereas Liquid is a clan. 2l is like, well hopefully we will get money to travel to LANs and stuff. 2l is actually a cs team, branching out into bw. So the 2l BW manager/leading guy, 2l-foxx, is trying to get money for it. Also, we're a team in clanbase which is a good start.
Loophole: Gotcha. How did you hear about it?
Liquid`Corbalt: Um, foxx asked me to join.
Loophole: Cool. Who are some of the other BW members?
Liquid`Corbalt: testie, foxx, hiroko, stinger, eugene, chojja, eji, and arang.
Liquid`Corbalt: former members are heuimang, zealot, and tsunami.
Liquid`Corbalt: oh and marine too but I dunno about that. I hear conflicting stories. I think he's considering it. Also, I think he uses 2l-marine on gamebugs, so I suppose count him in too.
Loophole: Oh. Do you know why Tsu quit?
Liquid`Corbalt: Well, as many people know, tsu went a long time without playing BW.
Loophole:
I know he keeps pretty bussy with school.Liquid`Corbalt: yeah. His GF took his cd. hehe. So during that time foxx replaced him.
Loophole: if my GF took my BW CD I think it would be over between us. =(
Liquid`Corbalt: hahaha. Fortunately BW IS my gf, so I don't have that problem. :D
Loophole: lol. So has 2l had any sponsorship offers yet? I would have no clue about how to obtain that.
Liquid`Corbalt: I dunno. I ask foxx about that and he usually says hes talking to maz about it.
Loophole: heh.
Liquid`Corbalt: maz is the leader of all 2l. I dunno. So not really I guess. When I joined foxx says he'd have some though. Maybe 2l will pay for some members to go to lan arena 7 in france.
Loophole: Cool. Do you know if their counterstrike teams have any sponsorship?
Liquid`Corbalt: I think they do but I don't know or care.
Loophole: Poor CS players, they just don't have what it takes for RTS I guess.
Liquid`Corbalt: haha yeah :D
Loophole: I've seen a few reps of you playing tsunami. Do you know him well?
Liquid`Corbalt: yeah he and I are pretty good friends, we have played a lot of games.
Loophole: I read this article you wrote a while back. It was linked from newtdojo.org, and it was about you quitting SC etc.
Liquid`Corbalt: hahaha ;( I wrote that when I was mad at sc and taking myself way too seriously. Also, I was really really bad and I thought I was good, which is a bad combination.
Loophole: Do you still think you're really bad?
Liquid`Corbalt: Not really bad, but pretty bad
Loophole: lol. That's called modesty I think.
Liquid`Corbalt: hehe. I guess. I've learned that there's no pleasing most people. If you say youre good people will say youre $!$%y. If you say youre bad people will act like youre being patronizing with false modesty as the guise to $!$%iness. So I try not to comment on that. I'm ok I guess. I lose a lot.
Loophole: I think no matter how good I got or how bad I would always say I'm decent, for the same reasons. There's almost always someone who you are a newbie to.
Liquid`Corbalt: Yeah. Well um I dunno about that
Loophole: At my level anyway. I think you could give just about anyone a good game.

Liquid`Corbalt: My friend heuimang uses oo and ooa all the time, and around him I always do so. And tsunami is very fond of :O and I use it too around him, but never when hes not around.
Loophole: OMG tsu uses :O for everything. heh.

Loophole: I used to scoff at people going ^^ Now I use it all the time.
Liquid`Corbalt: The first time I saw ^^ I really didn't realize it was a smiley face. It took me along while to understand it. T_T threw me for a while too.
Loophole: ditto. I had to have it explained.
Liquid`Corbalt: ^_^ is somewhat realistic though.
Loophole: heh. only one I ever saw straight out was the kurbies.
Liquid`Corbalt: haha yeah, anime makes it much more believable.
Loophole: One thing I found out before this interview that I didn't know, you placed 8th in the MFO ladder for WCG qualifiers.
Liquid`Corbalt: hehe
Loophole: But you didn't go to the quals?
Liquid`Corbalt: well..
Liquid`Corbalt: I was #2 the night of the ending of MFO and then I went like 2-5 or something with maynard, so he went up to 3 or 2 or something, and I fell to 8th. Then I could have won the trip to wcg quals, but I had to go through a few rounds of best of 1 single elim. I lost pvp vs some guy 6 vs 12 on un-fixed temple, so I didn't win the trip to wcg quals and my parents sure as hell wouldnt pay for it.
Loophole: You should have probe rushed.
Liquid`Corbalt: hehe, i'll keep that in mind. It was foolish of me to play from 6 in unfixed temple. I won't make that mistake again. hehe
Loophole: what else could you do? pull an NTT?
Liquid`Corbalt: yeah, exactly
Loophole: in the tourny? would they allow it?
Liquid`Corbalt: they sure as !&$% better
Loophole: lol
Liquid`Corbalt: I can't imagine what a shoddy terrible tourney wouldnt allow it. 6 mines at like 60% of the other spots on ladder temple.

Liquid`Corbalt: [gsp]'s jju chojja gyuntae shinhwa white are all really good zergs who beat the crap out of me. [red]nada and TheMarine are both pretty famous for a reason, they were really good.

Liquid`Corbalt: Lots of times I play koreans on gamei or gamebugs who have names appearing in ascii, not their main IDs, and those are often very good. The best players i've played are all koreans
Loophole: Gamebugs is loaded with good players.

Loophole: I tried to get an account, on their site they have an english guide, but they didn't respond to the email. Apparently you have to send an email for an account.
Liquid`Corbalt: I am also proud to say I am the first nonkorean to play gamebugs

Liquid`Corbalt: Yeah. My friend eji made it for me. I feel kind of bad now, with all the foreigners coming on to a server that is supposed to be for koreans. Same with gamei. It's unfortunate that all the best players with a very few exceptions live in korea
Loophole: well, gamebugs themselves put an english guide on their site for international players.

but I dunno..if I was korean I would kind of resent chobo foreigners !&$%ing up my server. Some of them are really mean once they realize I am not korean. Loophole: that seems stuck up to me.

Liquid`Corbalt: I shouldnt really say that though many are very nice, in fact the huge majority are. Yes, I am in high school.

Loophole: That's kind of the traditional parent role I think.
Liquid`Corbalt: Pretty sad world where the traditional parent role is to discourage your child from persuing his dreams.
Loophole: it's like if you wanted to be a football player but the sport was only played in malaysia and only a few hundred positions were available

Liquid`Corbalt: I think my parents would be much happier if I wanted to be a football player. But I think your hypothetical example is nonsensical.
Loophole: see, I think parents just refuse to admit to theirselves that their kids could possibly make a lifetime commitment that is sensible, unless it was something very standard.
Liquid`Corbalt: Yeah, I think you're right about that.
Loophole: Anything not standard that is a big commitment is immediately threatening their childs future, which they have to live through in order to feel better about their shortcomings as kids.
Liquid`Corbalt: Gaming gets no respect whatsoever in the USA.
Loophole: yeah
Liquid`Corbalt: My brother, he chose to be a musician. So all the girls love him and my parents love him too. Gaming is a lonely but noble art.
Loophole: ^^ Did you sign up for the WC3 beta?
Liquid`Corbalt: Nope.
Loophole: Not looking forward to it?
Liquid`Corbalt: I suppose I will play it when it comes out, if its any good. I don't like betas though, or movie trailers or teasers for shows or anything like that. I don't need to brace myself for anything. When it comes out i'll buy it, but I don't have time to learn this whole new game, which isn't going to be a game at all but just a beta :/ Some people say they want a headstart and they will be gosus in WC3 when it comes out but I think that's a little weak. I'll just buy it if I have money when it comes out.
Loophole: you don't think it would be advantagious? Or a "headstart" to be in the beta?
Liquid`Corbalt: I guess it might but right now i'd rather be practicing sc
I don't even know if WC3 will lend itself to competition based play to the degree that sc does.Loophole: Good call. See, i'm not good enough at sc for it to make a difference, so I'm looking forward to trying to become a good WC3 player

Liquid`Corbalt: Well the only one I really played is aok and aoe. My dad saw that I liked sc and he wanted to a father son bonding thing.

Loophole: ah. tt. I was playing chess for the first time in a couple years the other day and I realized that I could use my sc knowledge to play chess better. it was odd.

Liquid`Corbalt: I have never really found sc knowledge to be useful in chess, or vice versa.
Loophole: well, the ability to keep track of several things in my head at once for instance, or to guess my opponents counter moves.

Loophole: heh. But even some of the racist jokes make me laugh. Like I showed my friend KJ, who is a black guy, the joke he made about wearing the "nobody likes the negro" shirt and having two big black boddy gaurds, and he was in histerics. But it's like an uncomfortable laugh. =/
