I don't see it as having negative "redneck" connotations, not that it should matter to you. I will however, say that financing depreciating assists is rarely a good idea, and if you are letting the internet decide which car to overpay on, you might want to reconsider your plan.

I would recommend the G35, if you care more about the impression it gives off to other people. (I would go for the G35 regardless actually). Imo, the G35 gives off a stylish and slick look while the Mustang gives off an aggressive look which might be why some people say its for rednecks. Also, mustangs (not GTs) are cheap so that might be another reason. When I was in high school, tons of my classmates would drive Mustangs so I kinda associate Mustangs with wannabes. I live in the South but not Deep South or redneck territory.

Choose whichever one better suits your taste I guess.

I would go for the G35 because it would be a good deal cheaper, would have better gas (lets be honest...you have a V8 mustang...ur gonna get terribad gas mileage flooring it everywhere

), significantly lower insurance costs...better handling (which if you intend to not go in a straight line all the time helps) and overall better ride quality...also if cops are annoying for speeding stuff then avoid anything flashy like the mustang gt

If you're worried about all that buy a 4 door sedan that gets 28+ in the city because you're just shitting yourself if you think those are reasons, let's buy a sports car but it has to be practical? It's like i wanna swim in my lead suit, which color jello should i fill my pool with?

I loved my convertible mustang so much that my dad ended up buying one as well. We're definitely not a blue collar family -- He works at Intel and I'm trucking through engineering school.

Only other car I'd ever see myself buying than a mustang is something from Germany.

I'd recommend an M3 over both of those. I can go into detail if you want, but I mean I doubt you're going to make a major decision like this on the advice of some guy on the internet.
Does the mustang have a bad image? No, it's fucking awesome IMO. G35 has a more executive feel, however since I've never had the chance to drive one I can't comment on its actual driving sensation vs that of the mustang.

unless your talking a 02-04ish M3, if thats the case then its definitely worth it

I've got the 2011 V6 Mustang MCA edition and i fucking love it. All my friends fucking hate me for it(they love it to) and, well, its safe to say females are pretty much sold by the time their asses hit the leather seats when i pick them up. I think my car gets eye fucked more on the road than i get looked at walking to class. Only reason i have it is cause it went on special for employee leases (yay dad <3). Every day i wake up and realize its a good day because i have this car.

Also I'd highly recommend the 2011 over the 2010, especially with that sexy ass 5.0 v8. Also i just saw the 2011 GT/CS...damn is that thing sexy.

Also, i smoked a deer going 75 mph and am it took it impressively well. I did have to get the fender/tirewell/door replaced though (yay insurance)

My friend has an 05 g35 and he loves it as well, but he likes mine more xD
