Hello Team Liquid, I hope you guys are having a good Holiday time with Christmas, a few days ago, and New Years coming up tomorrow, I was wondering, well all of us are here because we love Starcraft and want to become good at it. But.. there's a doubt... So my question is what's your talent? Can you fit your fist in your mouth? Or can you eat sushi with your feet? Or maybe you are so awesome that you can touch your ear with your TOUNGE!!!?? ...No well not that but you get the point
Well my talent or what we could call a talent is that I can solve the Rubik's Cube in about 1min 15sec
So now YOU guys tell me, the most awesome ones I'll put them here. (I have the feeling this is going to be a big list, but there's always the spoiler tag :D) But thats about it please be honest :D

Hell I can even unlock and open doorknobs with my feet if I'm carrying something in both hands.

Talent? Being good at whatever I want to be good in. I can't stand losing, and I can't stand sucking. Good, not the best.

I'm also very "pedagogically talented".

I don't know if its a achievement but i can put my feet in my neck o.O Other than that my talent might be that i am very good at English at a very young age (At about 11 i knew and how to speak most English BASIC words. And when i was about 6ish i first learned that you don't pronounce Girl as Gril. (What is a dutch word)
I still tend to type the "i" without capital tough |:
But thats not really a talent either i suppose. Some might consider it is. I'm happy i speak english. Helps me in school.
Not really sure how I gained it, but I have very dexterous toes/feet. I routinely pick things up with my feet, can hit lightswitches up or down ezmode, and generally can just hold/grab things.

to be or not to be that is the question whether tis no blur in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous ofrtune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing enthtem, to sleep to die? ah theres the rub for in that sleep which death may come to shovel off this mortal coil, must give us pause. and theres the respect that makes calamity so long life. for who would bear the whips and scorns of time.
I memorized this when I was in the 3rd grade. Not sure if the words are all correct, but hey, it's more Shakespeare than most people know
would making the same mistakes over and over even though you know before making the mistake that you will make them be considered a talent? I'm pretty good at that.
the other talent i had and no longer have is drawing. Use to be known for it when I was in school but got turned away from it for reasons I don't want to go into.
I'm pretty decent at games that involve manipulating/missing letters in words. Unfortunately I don't really enjoy scrabble although I placed decently in an open without any experience.
I can jump really far without the need for exercising. like 6 feet standing long.
And I suppose I am in the top 99% of people in the whole world at starcraft, rts games. I also once won a race in a contest of millions. (sperm cell race).
It's hard to have a talent because when people get good at something they tend to specialize in it. There are likely many people (1%) in the fields you are above average at, who've spent more time developing that specific specialization. I like to think that having some useless talents doesn't really put them ahead of me in any way... it makes me feel better. Well Except for magicians .... curse them and their girl stealing ways...
Girl: Oooh... how did you do that!!?!?!1 Magician: A magician never reveals his secrets Girl: Do another! Magician: How bout I make your clothes disappear into thin air! Girl: uhmmmm.... ok

hehe cubers ftw! i was decent at the cube, ~30s average, ~3min blindfolded. kind of went on to experiment with other twisties though. the accomplishment i'm most proud of is a 4x4x4 bld solve, even though the time was abysmal. haven't done any of that for quite some time now though, T_T

T.T i feel stupid with you guys, i thought i solved it epicly but then i see up here JeeJee solved the 4x4x4 blind thats AWESOME
I can write like the dickens. I also bring the pain in Gears of War 2, even though that's not so much a natural talent as it is a testament to my long-term commitment to endure a thoroughly subpar multiplayer experience.
As for you other posters:
First of all, I didn't know that solving Rubik's Cubes for speed was such serious business, but I guess there's a subculture for just about everything. Crazy. I'm heading over to youtube now to see what I can see. And second of all, I'm pleased that there are musicians among us. I have no history with or inclination towards musical virtuosity. It's always been really impressive to me, though.
Learning and adapting is my skill, -self taught guitar, drums, piano (not too much piano) -absorb info -good at most sports -teach myself random shit to keep busy -like being a jack of all trades
I was actually gonna make a thread series about learning new random shit, have one ready to go, maybe I'll save it for new year's. I wanted to know where to put it, but kennigit never responded so I'll just throw it in blogs (unless a mod says I can do otherwise).

10.39s PB signing in.
And I have a 1:55 blindfolded, and a 6/7 in 55 minutes multi blind.

Since when does solving rubik's cubes constitute talent. It's all memorization...
I think people view talents as something you're really good at. I think of talents as something you can pick up extremely quickly with little prior exposure.
By my definition, I'd say I'm really good at any sort of mathematical puzzles.

No, because I have all the algorithms memorized for my method, but my personal best is a 39.50 single solve. After you memorize everything, you need very good pattern recognition, and other people can look ahead better than I can. Also, for the first few steps in the method I use (Petrus method), it's all about intuition, not memorization.

it's only memorization if you want it to be that way my blindfold method for example is/was freestyle -- i can do whatever i want to solve it, whether that be existing algorithms, making up my own algs on the spot, etc. it's a lot more flexible, way more efficient, faster, and scales to other puzzles such as larger cubes or completely different twisty puzzles like megaminx.

Its memorization until you start solving it under a minute then it becomes at skill. Not everybody can solve it under a minute.
I've always been a pretty good artist. Since I was very young I can remember being able to look at almost anything and draw/paint it, just one of those things I could always do but didn't give much thought to until later in life.
Overall, I'm a pretty damn average 15 year old, and I really don't have many outstanding talents. However, I like to think that I am somewhat of a math-aficionado with the extent of my math knowledge. I'm in the highest level for my current math class, and I'm still ezmoding everything. Like, legit, every single class I'm the first one done everything, whether it be a test, worksheet, or extended problem. Math is so 1a2a3a for me, so much so I use one of my two studies during the day to go to the school's math lab and help tutor the newbs who need help. I don't mind doing it at all, it's math and I get free extra credit. >:-D
Wow, I'm sorry I used the same words over and over and over again so much. I didn't realize it when I wrote it. O_O I suppose that just shows my age... :/
I suppose the only thing I'm really good at is making people laugh. Most people say that's my best quality. Other, meaner people say it's my only redeeming quality. =(
Also, I fucking destroy shit in Mario Kart 64. Don't challenge me on this; you'll lose your pride, along with the race.

Daaaaamn. Those are the works of a man with talent.
Whenever I see art of that quality, it just blows my mind. I mean I can't even conceptualize of how to reproduce something that I am looking at that accurately, much less actually reproduce it. It's like trying to imagine how reanimate the dead or some shit. Got no clue where you would even start.
I used to be able to solve a cube sub 30, I just did it recently and I clocked in at ~45 seconds - such a failure. Me and my bootleg Fredrich and fail Type-D...

(not sure if that is a talent...)
lolol there are two people on my hall at school, one averaging ~11 and the other ~13... XD both are probably top 10 or so in the country I think?
(meanwhile my layer-by-layer is like 3-4 minutes -__-; )

I have this as well actually, although i don't practice it I mostly do it with the both hands full like when carrying heavy stuff or whatever. I think its to a more minor extent though.
I'm ~2k elo chess player mostly from getting dragged around to weekend chess tournaments I was way too lazy and playing computer games to study/read books on chess (I stopped playing when I was 15 though completely, except for playing now in the college club to help them out since I know them anyway)
I've been better than all my (older, 4 older brothers) siblings at games, at least from a young age I was worse but in my early teens I was better at most games but they were gone at this stage, I could beat them at wc2 when I was like 8 or so from literally just macroing 6 rax of knights when they were playing like 1 or 2 barracks and getting every tech structure etc.
EDIT@ UNLOCK with your feet?? Well I don't think my toes have that strength in them LOL maybe I can blame my front doors for being hard to unlock. If you mean those circular doorknobs you have to twist I can do those, and the other ones np.
Music. Playing saxophone is what I hope to do for the rest of my life, and I like to consider myself a solid composer as well. I'm also very good at picking up instruments; I can play a really large amount of instruments competently.
@Z3kk- I find that perfect pitch is double-edged; it's really nice in some contexts, but it also just makes me angry at how shit isn't in tune a lot.
