Whenever I play older people in basketball, I'm immediately cautious, because I assume that if they're playing with the youngsters, they've either got a wicket shot, play really dirty, or just have excellent game sense. Usually, it's some combination of the three. I'm sure it's similar for a lot of sports. (and yeah, Badminton is made of pure awesome, but it's really a different skillset compared to Tennis. Kind of like BW and SC2, I suppose)

"This old grandma". 60 is not really what I call an old grandma. Isnt that like standard age when you become a grandparent?
Anyway, I hope I can be somewhat fit in that age and be better than my 15yo self in all of my sports.
I have the best fucking lawyers in the country including the man they call the Malmis.

Last time I played badminton with semi-competitiveness, I hurt my wrist.
I'm scared to play badminton now. =[
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

badminton is actually very easy to play provided you know the tricks.
there's actually tricks to increasing the force that you hit with, switching directions of the shuttlecock and receiving a smash.

beginner tip for hitting the shuttlecock(OP):-

keep twitching your wrist thats holding the racket. proceed to hit the shuttlecock. be amazed at the sheer increase of power you've managed to put into the shuttlecock. this twitching motion increases your wrist's power transmission to the shuttlecock. its a immediate difference. for other tips on badminton, tho im not a so-called pro player,im decent, feel free to PM me

why was he banned again? I personally enjoyed the cartoon that he drew... and it's not like he copy and pasted an unrelated, unfunny image macro... seriously dont understand this ban.

are you for real, mods? banning funny posts? even if this wasn't the funniest (i personally liked it)... if you disencourage people to be funny... cause they have to fear the ban hammer... that situation is just wrong. please stop it. and please don't ban me for this post. i see how it doesn't meet your standards, but i feel like it really had to be said.

People do funny shit all over this site. Think of this as quality control.

Don't sleep on old people in sports. I used to watch the racketball people at my old gym when I rode the bike. There was a 60+ year old dude who regularly would school younger dudes.

Being beaten by a 60 year old in badminton is nothing to be ashamed of (or special). Especially not when you have never played before.

I used to get beaten by my grandparents in tennis untill I was around 19. And they were 80 by then.
And I was not bad at all. And just last week I was playing squash like I do every week and between games this old guy came over to give me some tips and pointers and my play really improved afterwards.

Just to show you never to underestimate an older person still actively participating in a sport.
Life is to give and take. You take a vacation and you give to the poor.

Pretty stupid, what he did wasn't even an image macro. It was an original mspaint, with the use of the troll pic thing.

I wish I could try out badmitton. Don't think it's played around here... I used to play in my backyard with my family when I was younger and that was fun. We had some cheap set though and a lot of the times if we hit it hard the birdie would get stuck in the racket t.t

I read up about the reason YaKool was banned and it was "image macros". But that picture wasn't an image macro and I actually thought it was quite funny. This post is feedback to say that I disagree with the banning.

Because they are damn good at it and have sick reaction times. The best Ping Pong players are asian too. Absolutely sick reaction times if you've ever seen those people play.

I had a similar experience waiting at a bus stop. This guy comes up to me and asks me to play chess. He pulls out a used plastic mat with marking telling you which direction each piece moves. I knew he was mentally handicapped and assumed from the board that he had just learned to play, so I figured "why not, I'm not the best chess player in the world, but I can at least give him a good learning experience".

I have NEVER lost a game of chess so badly in my life! Handicapped or not, this guy was phenomenal! It took less than 15 minutes, I only took TWO of his pieces, and he proceeded to toy with me the last few turns by taking all my pieces except the king while loudly proclaiming how awesome he was.

I was pretty ashamed I had judged him off the bat, so instead of taking the bus I walked the three miles to my destination in shame!

I play regularly at the club in our city and there's a couple older guys that can still keep up with me, I play on the UW varsity team.

Although all these older guys are former provincial/national champions. Most of them at least.

And it's played more in Asia because for one it's the national sport of a couple countries, including China. Not to mention there are hundreds more clubs to play in there, in Canada there's maybe one club per city save a few areas like Toronto. In china there are courts to play on everywhere. They get the funding that hockey does here.

An image macro is a picture with superimposed text, often for humorous effect.

On Internet forums and imageboards, image macros are used to emphasize a certain phrase (often an Internet meme) by superimposing it over a related picture.

what's hard to understand there???
