Because of my job, I spent most of the week in mainland China. During my stay here, I need to get accustom to the large population of native hydralisks that dwells in the country.
There are so many spitting attack throughout the day that you must be on guard all the time. Spitting attack can can from stationary hydralisk, walking hydralisk or worst, hydralisk on moving vehicles. Many of the local type have achieved the range upgrade, after years and years of practice.
Local hydralisks are usually a peaceful race that excels at GDP building activities. However, they have a very uncommon biological activity where the individual must clear their throat and spit out volleys of toxic fluid. Terran scientist have extensive research on this fluid and conclude that it contains a wide range of hazardous bacteria and advice terran personnel to distance themselves from such substance.
I am not a racist (and I am Chinese anyways), but sometimes, after a long day of work, the last thing you want is to hear the throat clearing sound and then a taxi driver suddenly open his window and land his projectile on your shoes.
p.s. I think the cultural revolution is to blame, at least HK, Macau and Taiwan are not like that.... But how long it will take to fix this? Three decades? One century? Two thousand years ago Confucius already taught about manner (at least that's what I learn in school); but now China is like this...

During my six years in Shanghai, faux-hydralisks (because the real ones shoot spines) liked to spit down at me from apartment balconies. At first I thought it was the natural condensation water drips of AC-overlords, but no. Oh dear, no.

I have no idea that the same thing we actually do here is done by the Chinese. There should be a fine like india or singapore that when you spit you get arrested.

Mainland China means not Hong Kong, not Taiwan and not Macau.
Anyways, this happens in all the cities in China, the smaller the city, the worse it get.
Guangzhou is actually better, since they are "educated" by HK television channel

I wouldnt be too bothered about it even though it is disgusting. You just need another sars outbreak and people will cleanup again.
PROTIP: Do not touch any plantlife while in a chinese city or any telephone poles. People will sneeze on their hands and wipe them on the nearest plant or pole.

Beijing has many spitters as well.
20 million loogies on the ground, they dry up, flake off, float into the air. There is more of this kinda of pollution here than anything coming from factories.
