I thought I'd go and make a blog. I don't really care about the "omg first blog post what do I write" mentality. I didn't even know what I'm going to write when I clicked the create blog button. But, I randomly decided to write about a topic commonly discussed here on TL - the "gg".
Now, there have been quite a few polls asking StarCraft II players what they think about gg'ing, usually offering options such as "I always gg," "I gg if it is a good game," and the IdrA approach. I always vote that I always gg, because while not in a game, that's what I believe I should, ideally, do.
I'll be honest tho, I don't always gg. I don't think I've ever gg'ed when I lose to a 4gate, for example. If I feel I've been outplayed, I gg. If I scout a 4gate, mass bunker, and still lose, I don't (which is most often the case). I rage quit every now and again when I scout a baneling bust, make a bunker and barracks wall, and still lose. It happens to all of us.
Everyone rage quits now and again. If there are any angelic beings out there who have gg'd every single game they ever lost, I commend that, but that kind of being is extremely rare or flat out doesn't exist.
In the end, the important thing is to know that gg'ing is important. In a tournament, for example, even IdrA has to gg. Even IdrA knows that in a more formal setting, it's important.

Never, unless I'm on US West or something I feel like it sometimes. Don't even GG my rl friends because I can get away with not being called BM or whatever, however I do usually give gg to my e-friends (except lolf f u chobo). This applies to both sc1 and sc2 for me.
I pretty much always say gg. There have only been 1 or 2 times when I haven't, and those weren't because of rage, but because of how embarrassed I was at how badly I played, haha.
I gg every game sometimes i type for fun hopefully something funny we lough and than leave. never happened to me that i rage quit even i was all ined in TL open i should scout and i know i did a mistake and even than said GG. im such a nice guy : )
I only gg in tournaments and to all my friends, or if its a friendly game that was created through other friends. In ladder I just leave right away no gg!
Unless I'm mistaken GG means good game. If I lose to a 6 pool that's not a good game. Anyone can 6 pool me on a small map in close quarters. If I've played a blinding game and I feel that it really was a good game, I'll GG because it was a good game.
It feels as if GG has become meaningless because people use it in such a mindless and blank fashion. I just got 4gated. GG. I just got Marine SCV All in'd with no micro. GG.
It's extremely situational for me. Typically, if I get cheesed I won't gg. If the game straight up displayed my skills and I lost I will always gg. If it's a tournament/game with friends I will gg no matter what though, even if they cheese me.
couldn't pick a choice in the poll. i gg if the game actually was good, but cheese and bad manner mean no gg. if a friend cheeses me i don't gg either. but i never leave without a gg just because i lost.
"Angelic being" is a bit too far but yes gg every game, you always played worse if you lost, or maybe lost to some cheese/allin but are viable and usual with perfect play you'll still stop them, just greedy play//poor scouting.
I gg every 1v1 game. Mainly I just do it to give a heads-up that I'm leaving the game and to be polite. I really don't care how I lose because a loss is a loss is a loss. No one is going to look at your record and say "Oh that loss was to 6 pool, doesn't mean you're bad." Not "gg"ing is like walking out on a guy mid-conversation. "GG"ing is like saying "nice to meet you" after a conversation with a stranger, even if it wasn't nice to meet him.
