EPT1) I've almost finished my second album!
Let me back up a bit. I make electronic music. I put out my first record in October 2009 (if you're interested, you can download it at my website, denverhughes.com), and while I was happy with it, I think my new full-length, which will be coming out early next year, is FAR superior. So I'm really excited to get it out into the world. It takes such a long time to get everything recorded, mixed, mastered, etc.; I'm just now getting around to releasing songs that I wrote over a year-and-a-half ago.
As for describing what the new album sounds like: it's kind of a mix of M83, Boards of Canada, and Telefon Tel Aviv. If you haven't already listened to one or more of those artists, then you should definitely rectify this.
2) Law School Applications! I've applied to about ten law schools. I'm still waiting to hear back from most of them, but I just found out that I've been accepted into Georgetown. I have a decent shot at some even better schools (NYU, Columbia, U. Chicago, Michigan, U. Penn), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that some big fat envelopes will be showing up in my mailbox.
My girlfriend is applying to MA programs in music composition, so we've both applied to schools all over the country, hoping that we both get into good schools in some of the same areas.
3) Big NYC tournament in January! I'll be playing in the Cybercraft Tournament next month (a link to the thread is below), which will be my fourth NYC tournament. The local community is really awesome; if you live in the area, make a point of it to check out one of these events.

I'm kind of limited in the amount of time I have to practice SC2, between music, law school stuff, spending time with my girlfriend (who, I should note, is wonderfully supportive of my SC2 efforts; she even asks me from time to time what my latest world rank is, and might come along to the next tournament), a full-time job, etc. Still, I think I do okay, considering the constraints I'm under.
