So, I couldn't play for a few weeks because of school and the girlfriend. Needless to say, it shows. Sure, I thought the first few were just shaking the rust off. It's inevitable, right? ....

Note, the few custom wins were just against the comp hoping that my hands were just cold. The one win I did get was just barely won, so much so I wouldn't even say I deserve that win. Losing to platinum players now, too. I watch my replays and just don't know what I am doing differently than when I left off... This is the shit that drives a man to drink. Nerd raging so, so hard.

im a 1550 diamond but because i lost so many games my mmr is so low i play 700-800 diamonds -_-
Metagame has changed a little = Times have changed. My guess is you're using bad unit combinations that don't work? That or you really are rusty. Whatever the case, calm down and just take your time getting back. Good luck!
I just came back, my MMR is so high I am play only 1800+ when I have 700 points. Fortunately I have 1k bonus and I don't care if I fall below 50% wr
Honestly....whatever.
Losing that many times is nothing to get all bummed out for. First it's a game. And secondly, losing builds character. Just man up and keep fighting.
If anything, coming back to SC1 after a hiatus is even worse.....as I've been constantly getting owned by a bunch of people.

Same here, I have no idea why the hell I'm facing 1300 to 1500 effing zergs when I have no idea how to play the match as of the moment. (i'd be happy facing 1300 to 1500 terran and protoss but not zerg -_-)
Well, sometimes it fluctuates, I face some 700 or 1100 players when my game is so uber noob..
Yeah btw, let me tell you a story about me being a noob like you
I had a good win of 9-0 in SEA server.. but that catch up to me (i'm very inconsistent if I'm not playing for a day then play the other day) and got a very bad record of 10-13.. but I just grinded some games with some of my good friends then once I got my groove back, I laddered again and have a decent amount of win ratio...
Now I'm have a problem with the NA server due to the amount of zergs.. kekekeke I have a pretty bad win ration around 24-18 right now but I'm just gonna grind it when I feel like it.
Just enjoy the game don't take things to seriously, that's the time you are so good when you're relaxed.
Well firstly make sure your sticking to one race, secondly, stick at it. Try to stick with 1-2 build orders per match up, just refine them and refine them, make the opponent in the game yourself, challenge yourself. Can you push yourself to expand a little faster than the previous game? Can you remember to apply some pressure when you see your opponent over expanding? Do you feel you are being lazy about the way you are playing?
i know how you feel
i haven't had much time to play recently, but because my mmr was high when i played during the summer, i came back and was playing 2000 diamonds at only 1200.
i just lost 5 in a row
If you feel like that after losing 5 games you are probably currect. You need the ability to keep on fighting no matter what!
Mortis fighting!
Yeah dude 10 losses is unacceptable. Just quit SC2 and play an easier game.
In all seriousness, keep fighting! A man is only as strong as his will to fight.
I started the day 0-4 (my worst to start a day of SC2 ever), and i have fought my way up through gay crap all day to be a meager 4-6. Just keep trying, thats all i can tell you.
dont worry about it, on one daily, day9 showed his match history and he lost like 13 games in a row
haha I'm glad to find people in the same boat. I have no idea how to play TvZ at the moment. I lost the last 4 matches. Even protoss now is owning me. The only match up I can play is TvT. It is pretty sad.
If you took a break then obviously you won't know all the timing attacks and strats. The game does change, it'll just take you some time to get back into it and pock all of this back up.
yo mortis, dont worry, its just a bad day, and bad moves, not enough effectiveness in strategies, etc. etc. it goes away.

qft took me about 15 games to get back in the groove if u play p i can say this has changed v z: expect muta ling more v t: more macro oriented, no longer 1 base vs 1 base v p: pretty much the same, also a bit more macro oriented, less cheesy

Agree, the vp though is still pretty shitty on ladder. If you're playing ladder theres a good chance there will be a cheesy strat in there somewhere but if you look at pros play they moved away from that and are headed more toward macro play.

Wow you really need to make a blog post for 5 losses? I agree you aren't cut out for sc2. You should try a new hobby like knitting or maybe get yourself one of those EZ-Bake ovens i heard those are fun.
Just tell yourself over and over--record means nothing, getting better does. Work on the latter in every way you can and the former will follow.

My B i didnt look closely enough. My knitting recomendation still stands though.

practice with friends and update yourself on the strategies and then have a go at it again. mechanically demanding games require you to be in top form and sc2 is new, so the strats are rapidly changing over the course of just days to weeks. with the game having been up a while now ladder has sorted itself out, too, which means that better players will be in top divisions now due to heavy competition.
id say youll be back in one week time max. gl!

I believe my terran play is lacking more tanks than usual. However, I cannot seem to identify my problems with my the other two races. I am watching every pixel of these replays lol. Thanks for the encouraging words. Just can drive you crazy. I believe the big problem was I left off with like 9 or 10 wins in a row and so when I came back I was getting matched too high for my current skill and it just trickled down mentally.
it could be worse, it could be iccup.
people wondering about why they are facing higher ratings than they think they should - those higher rating players are just noobs that recently rode the points inflation wagon. use up your own bonus pool too and you'll have just as high a rating, without having become any better for the most part.
Just need to find out that balance where when you lose you're not affected that much but to remember to go over even alittle what you could have done differently and strive to fix it the next following games. Those little changes could make huge changes in your gameplay but try to keep it consistent, quality more than quantity. .
Did you change your build orders and strats based on the new patch yet? That could be why lol
Your losing streak is laughable at best. Try playing on ICCUP.
Nearly all of us who go on breaks come back to horrible losing streaks. But that's because the meta game has changed, and continues to change on almost a weekly basis.
Just grind out those games, watch the replays and figure out what you need to do. Then you'll most likely experience a series of wins and then finally going back to the usual win lose win lose win win lose sort of deal; which is good.
i imagine a couple weeks off is going to mess with you more than scrapping off rust against a comp real quick
