KHL Russian League. Long story short Russians are notorious fighters, but officials frown upon it in Hockey apparently. Over 190k in fines, both teams suffered a loss as a result.
It's 1987 it is Canada vs Russia for the world junior hockey championship. Canada was assured to win, then a fight between Pavel Kostichkin and Theoren Fleury started. The rest is history as the brawl ensued officials in desperation turned off the arena lights, the fighting continued even after that. In the end both teams were ejected, players, and coaches were suspended for eighteen months and three respectively years an appeal on the players behalf reduced the punishment.
riley cote ko'ing andre roy (when he was on TBL) on one punch was sick. He honestly never won another fight, with like 40 or 50 under his belt. But that is just recent history, nice list.
I know absolutely nothing about hockey. Is there rules for fighting or something? In one of the videos it said someone won because of cuts. Does winning mean no penalty or something?

No that's just the evaluation for fun/pride. Nowadays actually there are fewer fights because they added a rule that instigating a fight gets you an extra 2 minute penalty which hurts your team. Which is dumb because fighting and enforcers exist for a reason, so there's a good chance at retribution if you take cheap shots at the other team's good players. This is IMO why there have been so many problems with cheap shots and dirty hits recently.
LOVE THESE FIGHTS.....How can you not love hockey fights... ^^ Unlike any other sport, there is this old school flavour to it all, just punching it out.

BAD CANADIAN BAD
so this is pretty much post videos of fights and brawls??? I always knew being a hockey nerd would be a useful skill some day
Ron Hextall. Not just fights, but totally worth it. This man somehow accumulated more than 100PIM a season for his first three years. This video will give you a good idea of why.
PJ Stock became a cult hero in BAHSTAN after this WAR with the much bigger Eric Boulton
And then he became a legend for not just the best fight of the year, but probably of the decade.
Rick Rypien of Vancouver is a midget who likes to fight much bigger men
One of my personal favorites, Colton Orr kills a Flyer goon
More of Colton being a badass
Recent one of Ivanans getting murdered
Now some oldies: Joey Fuckin Kocur and Motorhead. DONE
Bob Probert: Raging alchy and cokehead, awesome fighter
Tie Domi was a cocksucker, but actually a pretty good fighter. Some highlights
so, is fighting a regular part of an ice hockey game? two minute penalty seems laughable if you can just beat the shit out of the other team's best player for example. is the clock halted once a fight starts? or could you just spend the rest of the game fighting once you are in the lead?
When a fight starts they blow the play dead and the clock stops. Both players get a 5 minute penalty but the teams can still put out 5 players instead of 4. The extra 2 minutes comes from a silly rule that isn't called to often. (If your team got that extra 2 minutes you will be down a man so it would be 5 on 4 for 2 minutes instead of 5 on 5 still.

If you fight multiple times you also get tossed. And look at most of the fights, no one gets seriously hurt in most instances and there is a general unspoken rule that the tough guys don't fight the star players, tho sometimes star players who don't really fight will go at it with someone.

Regular in that it happens, but not every game. Dropping the gloves and fighting is five minutes. You get two for roughing, which basically means being a douche and hitting people but not dropping the gloves to really fight. The clock stops in a fight.
Just jumping someone who doesn't want to fight will result in extra penalties and usually an ejection for that player. There was an incident last week with this and the guy got tossed. You can also get an instigator if you go out of your way to start a fight... ie like charging across the ice at a dude who hit your teammate clean.
You will rarely see a goon going after a star. It's part of THE CODE, which is a bunch of manly rules that were not written down because the toothless Canadians that thought them up were too busy playing hockey. Goons fight goons, stars fight stars. You don't fight a guy at the end of his shift. Once the fight goes down or refs come in, it is over. If you do something dumb on the ice, expect retribution--the game polices itself. If the game is getting chippy, goons will often fight to settle it back down
