As a celebration of getting C- this season (i just got it at the end of last season) i've decided to do a battle report on the game that got me to C-.
This is my second battle report, you can find the first one here.
My opponent this game was a D+ korean (C- in previous seasons) called [oh]sexy. Actually just checking his profile he's C- now. So it was definetly an even matchup
The map was Fighting Spirit.

I started in the bottom left corner as the noble green protoss

My opponent started in the top right as the evil white protoss

I open nexus first a-la Frozen's pvp guide

My opponent started with a cheesy 2 gate (seriously who 2 gates AND 9 scouts OMG)

he see's my 12 nex and drops a forge

He then procedes to attempt to canon rush me while 2 gate rushing me, cheesy korean!

But i bring probes into the fight and drive him off!

Continuing to be a cheesy noob, my opponent hides an expo

I go to have a poke with my zealots, see no expo and retreat, fooled

expecting a reaver/dt drop i spread my goons nicely to snipe a shuttle that isn't coming

My opponent then takes his third before me, nullifying my economic advantage from my 12 nex

My first obs pops out and i go to attack

only to find my opponent has more stuff than i do

however my obs scouts his undefended third so i snipe it!

He tries to sneak a base at the bottom right but i expand there and kill his attempted cannon wall before it can get up. I was going to make a "yo dawg" poster out of it, but the cannons and nexus were too far away from each other

Meanwhile he throws out a few pre-storms on my army containing him at his natural

So i still have him contained, and figure i may as well take another 3 expos, why not!

a zealot counter attack kills one of my nexii!! but more importantly pulls my whole army out of position so he can move out

after many epic storms i manage to lose the battle Am i really going to lose this game even with such a lead??? Turns out i was a behind on the upgrades (3-0-0 vs 3-0-2)

luckily i kept my economy un-harmed and my best-style macro forced him out, even if i am blocking my goons in with a cannon

he comes back with a siginificant zealot/templar force, he's almost mined out at this point and has dropped an expo @ 12 (the only base i hadn't taken)

But i give him a taste of his own medicine and do a zealot counter while i deal with his attack force and make him cancel the nexus

I love stories like this, and you did it well. Just enough pictures to give an accurate sense of the state of the match, while not flooding me with images. The captions were also quite funny / informative. Blue goo, Psi Storms, and Archon-on-Archon action, hehe.
Congratulations on your victory! You'd better not lose to any 4-poolers and get dropped back down, though. =(

in my next one i'm going to do some proper image editing so i dont have a full GUI in every screenshot, it was just too much to handle for this one.

yeah i'd leave it there for most, but like, with the multiple battle screenshots i might edit them together just to get all the storms. I felt like jangbi after that first huge battle ^_^

But in his gateway count picture, it looks like 4 of those gateways don't have exits!
edit: Oh I guess he can build zealots from those gates and goons from the other ones?

Looking at the minimap in the last couple pictures it looks like an easy game for you.
Looking at all of the pictures though, looked like aa realllly fun game to play. I love these

Interesting game too, unpunished nexus first builds in pvp can be very annoying to play against.
(oh and epic gateway simcity by your opponent there )
BTW we ran into each other on the ladder last week, but I ended up leaving because of the lag

fuck yeah C- is definitely not easy to hit now ! I hit it a few seasons ago, but I'm struggling now that I can't play much.

The amount of base disparity between you and your opponent was insane :D Well written, was fun to read; I love long BW battle reports filled with details.

yeah you can get zealots out of them

yeah the game was more my inability to finish him off than it being close
BTW we ran into each other on the ladder last week, but I ended up leaving because of the lag
yeah that happens alot. being in australia and streaming means my ping is massive, making games with people in europe tough
How did you get away with nex first against 2 gate? Because i 2 gate after my nexus. if they 2 gate they basically get 1 zealot ahead, but the time that zealot takes to get to my base my zealot builds, so it evens out, while i have a nexus and they dont ^_^

haha nope i just suck that much. Mostly a combination of being maxed with alot of bases meant my money was out of control

I also like to 12nex 12 gate 12 gate pvp, especially on fs. I think it soft counters 10/12 gate with minimal micro. As long as you're trading zeals equally and are able to scout whether he is expoing, teching, or massing, you know what to do. But if he doesn't 2gate I agree you toss a coin for dt or reaver.

they're both fairly blockable, as long as you cannon up your nat, and have some goons to catch shuttles and maybe 1 cannon in your main mineral line you're ok
