EPTAs a first time blog poster, it's hard to figure out where to start, but I've always wanted to share my interests, and as we all know the best way to do that is always in list form. While I know tons of these exist, I was hoping of doing a semi regular link dump containing interesting websites, music and old videos. Music is a big part of this, and I'd describe my taste as indie, especially of the female vocalist persuasion. A lot of the things I post will probably be a blast from the past and may well have already been posted, but I hope those who have not already enjoyed them can do so now. Anyways, if the reception is positive I'd love to update this every now and then.
#1 English Russia: This site is absolutely amazing and it's always excellent to come back to when you're bored. Due to the multi-cultural nature of TL, I'm sure it's very interesting to get a bit of a window into other cultures. English Russia covers a lot of the Eastern Bloc and includes mostly pictures covering everyday life, the military, humor etc... A definite bookmark for those interested in the east.
#2 Satellite Mind by Metric: I'd just like to establish right away that Metric is perhaps one of the greatest bands of all time and undoubtedly influenced my eclectic music taste. Though Metric has recently been thrust into the mainstream (at least in Canada and the US), they've still managed to maintain their very unique indie sound. Satellite Mind is one of my favorite songs from their recent album "Fantasies" and represents a bit of their newer sound. For those who haven't heard Metric, definitely treat yourself. If you like the softer stuff, perhaps check out "Empty" from their album "Live it Out". Or anything from any of their albums for that matter.
#3 Jeannie's Artwork: I'll admit that this is a bit of shameless plugging, but it's all for a good cause. My friend has created a website showcasing her very talented artwork and hopefully the style appeals to some of you out there.
#4 Swim Until You Can't See Land by Frightened Rabbit: I predict great things for this scottish indie band and their single "Swim Until You Can't See Land" is a great showcase of their unique sound and talent. Definitely an acquired taste and won't appeal to many, but it's nice to see scottish indie coming into the mainstream. Their album "Midnight Organ Fight" definitely is in my top 20 and worth a purchase. Or download.
#5 The Third and the Seventh: An absolutely jaw dropping video, and I think it's probably best to just quote the video description

#6 Dornob: I'm not entirely sure how I stumbled upon this gem of a website, but I've been sporadically checking it ever since. A site all about funky architecture and interior design. Even for those who aren't interested can check out all the awesome products and designs. I've killed hours shopping for my dream home. Check out this futuristic house for example.
#7 Perpetuum Jazzile: I'm sure you've all heard the song "Africa" (not the hip hop one). This Acapella group does a really neat interpretation. Dug this one up from my youtube favorites.
#8 Inspired Bicycles: This video has been circulating around the internet for quite some time and has once again been dug up from my huge list of youtube favorites. For those of you who haven't seen it, check out what can be done on a bike. That is exactly why you drive a car.
#9 What you Know by Two Door Cinema Club: Before you think my music taste is too out there or girly, Two Door Cinema Club offers a very safe crowd pleaser. This song is just great and their entire album is generally quite good. The sound is a tad on the generic side, but I can hardly fault the guys. Fantastic track.
#10 My Wallpaper for September: Perhaps a tad NSFW? I don't know, either way the female in question is Miranda Kerr and definitely deserves your google image search if you somehow haven't heard of her.
