That list is pretty spot on. I've definitely noticed #2,3 a lot lately. 19 people missed the like button! Its not even annoying , more surprising. Like someone read it and went "wow that is so clever and funny, I'm going to use that next time!" Interesting in how/why dumb stuff spreads. Other ones that come up a lot - praise/insult directed at person in video, who clearly isnt the uploader or on youtube. - creepy and overt praise/white knighting of attractive chick. This is nothing new, but it always cracks me up extra if it's in bad english. It's like, "arrrgh I dont speak this language, but I must push through and express my horny opinions- 'Perfect leg. You are so sex cutie, I am kissing and take care you' !! " - pretentious/artsy/awe that makes no sense. eg comment on a Vivaldi vid: "wow! Music is an unsolvable maze that cannot be solved. It is proof god exists." (not 100% verbatim, but close iirc) | ||

Example, I jumped into a surefire idiot pit - a weebl's video - and the first comment was: Simon Cowell watched this 738 times. Clicked on the first related video. 120 creationists watched this video. I see it on every third video or something... I honestly think youtube revamping their comment system has actually made things worse, because it turned people into attention whores trolling for retard votes. When I used firefox, I had the "Youtube comment snob" extension installed which lets you block comments according to the number of misspellings. I set it to 0 and life became easier. To be honest, I didn't even know who the hell Justin Bieber was until I saw all these ridiculous comments in youtube while watching some videos of my favorite music! The fools should have realized that the best way was to just not mention him in the first place; way to go guys giving Justin more publicity for free! | ||

Not to mention that it's stupid to do it, but it is just so extremely subjective that it's practically useless. I mean, who can even prove that Richard Wagner produced better music than Justin Beiber? No one can even prove that me recording the background noise in my apartment for the next 39 seconds is worse music than Mozart. But yeah, youtube people are dumb as bricks so w/e. Most of the people on TL are students, so it's easy to forget that there are some pretty dumb people about. | ||
