WARNING THIS IS A LONG BLOG ABOUT SOME SHIT THAT WENT DOWN
Hi team liquid, I haven't had a blog in a while but I figured I'd share my most interesting friday with all of you. It started out as a normal friday for me. I got up in the morning around 7:20 and took a shower and went into work. Today was special though, Everyone was moving in because the college semester starts on monday AND on top of that work was taking us to buffalo wild wings and covering the cost AND it was a paid lunch(HOLY CRAP AWESOME) So the first half of the day goes by and we are ready to get some M-F B-Dubz which means that my friend/coworker Brian and I are off to get us a table as we're sure there will be a packed house on the first returning day of college students. Brian and I get there and easily get a table for the 7 of us that will be attending which was quite surprising to both of us. We get our drinks and wait for the rest of the crew to show up. They all get there and we get a crazy amount of food because fuck, it's free...I mean we even got 2 different appetizers. While we're waiting they bring out some food but they miss like a quarter of it but no one at the table cares because we all have something to eat. Over the next 10 minutes the rest of the food trickles in and the manager comes over and gives us all 5 dollar gift certificates for waiting on the food(OMFG I JUST GOT PAID 5 DOLLARS TO EAT AT BDUBS?!!?!?!?!) I also have enough food left over for dinner if I want. This is the best lunch I've ever had EVER...for the next 10 minutes.
Brian and I hop in the car to head back to work and we're driving on the most busy street in the city due to all the returning college kids. 2 stop lights before we're back to our office I make a comment about how one of our coworkers is a bad driver and it's almost scary to be following her. We slow down to stop for the last light before we're back at our office then the unthinkable happens. As I stop I check my rear view and notice that the truck behind me is going kind of fast and I think to myself hope that truck slows down not thinking anything of it as I look away from the mirror i realize that there is a girl driving and she's looking down. (I still say she was texting even though I didn't tell the cops that) 2 seconds later I hear a screech and my world is shaken. It happened almost in slow-mo and it was the most scared I'd ever been. I open my eyes and see a cloud of smoke(powder from the air bag) I'm not sure what just happened but my arm stings and I look over at Brian who is wincing in pain. I look down and my arm is bleeding a bit but I still have my body parts. This is when it gets interesting. I go into Super Sayian Rage mode like I was ready to fucking kill someone then a girl runs up to my car screaming if everything is all right. I look up at her and I instantly recognize it's my next door fucking neighbor how do I rage out at someone I've known for like 7 years and that I helped move in ugh. Now I'm even more pissed. I get out of the car and the people in the 2 cars in front of me are already outside waiting. Brian is ok (thank god he looked really bad at first) in fact everyone is ok. I got the worst of it, my car is the only one totaled. I go to call my mom who I've literally never cussed in front of and I'm 22. The first thing I say is Mom I just got in an accident everyone is ok but my car is FUCKED and I'm so pissed right now. She later told me she told everyone in the office "My son's car is fucked" which made me laugh quite hard thinking of her saying that.
Needless to say my left over BDUBS is all gone but there were some good things. My SC2 poster in the trunk wasn't destroyed in fact it was in pristine condition. I get to make funny jokes about my car getting it's shit pushed in like it's in federal prison and dropped the soap. None of my text books were ruined and everyone is surprisingly not seriously injured but I'm sore as hell today. I also got to spend the night getting sympathy from 2 very lovely ladies(pics will come once they up them to facebook).
Best of all though was my friend cody's response to the picture when I sent it to him.
"Damn it looks like Nony Cannon Rushed your car" in reference to me getting cheesed by nony in tl attack
my face instantly turned into FFFFUUUUUUUU when he said that

Oh god did the truck get practically zero damage?
They should stop making such large cars, it really sucks for sedan drivers. Little sedans like that get totaled so easily when they get hit by trucks, even at speeds MUCH below 50. Same thing happened to my moms civic Glad you are ok though.

talking to my dad he says probably 2 grand worth of damage on the truck but it's all to things you can't see right away. Looking at the truck it looks like it needs new headlights and a new hood and that's it.
One thing I forgot to mention is the driver of the truck isn't even the owner it's her little sister's truck who like just turned 16 XD

i drove plenty of compact cars my early years of driving and was always awwwed at how truck damages vs a car are always minimal. Now my previous 3 cars have been trucks/suvs. Hire a good lawyer and milk physical therapy as long as you can as the longer the better in receiving as much money as u can along with telling the lawyer she was texting.
Good thing is that your okay as cars can always be replaced. So the bright side is new car hunting! yay! And what are the odds that it was your neighbor LOL.

I can't drive yet but there is nothing that pisses me off more than someone who texts while DRIVING or anything else is going on -it's like holding up a sign that says "I don't give a fuck about whatever's going on"

Hm...the good thing out of this, if you want to see it, is that if she's insured, you can probably get a nice paycheck out of this for a down payment on a new car.

Doesn't the insurance company pay for at-fault accidents? You don't have to sue her, just let the insurance companies battle it out.

its called the "crumple zone"
the front and rear ends of sedans are designed to absorb impact, even tho it looks really messy even after low speed accidents

This is why it is fucking scary when that kind of lady is driving pickups or SUV's.
Parents/SO's get them because it is safer for their lady/woman/girl driving. But it is significantly more dangerous for everybody else. In fact, in the majority of cases, the additional size does not even help protect them from anything.

I always worry about getting rear-ended. Not because I'm worried of getting hurt but because I think it would be awkward especially for the person that hit a stopped car.

This is something that makes me rage on a weekly basis. I drive a small car, a coupe, and you see a HUGE number of people these days driving massive 4WD's and SUVs. They have absolutely no desire to EVER use that car offroad. And when you ask people why the hell they have such a big car, they'll respond with "Its safer". Yeah, great, in a crash your gonna be safe, because your car has a big bullbar at the front and weighs 2 tonnes. That just makes it 10 times more dangerous for the poor person you hit in the smaller car because your a terrible driver.
I've had a few instances where someone in big vehicle has been really close to hitting me because they were not paying attention or are just terrible drivers, and each time I think about how rediculously unfair it is that they are allowed to take risks with other people's lives but not their own.
