Anyone have tips on when to drone, or how many drones to get in zvp? I've been having that problem, against the 1 gate core builds. Please don't just say put down 6 spine crawlers and then drone, because it definitely depends on which 4 gate variation they end up doing, and they can always still expand quickly against you to put you far behind.

If they arnt 2 gateing get a few lings outside their base and get speed fairly early. If they are 1 gate core you can pump drones for a good while. Eventually you need to learn the timing on when the send your overlord into their main to see what they are doing. if they are 4 gating put down 4 or so spines and pump lings for a while.(Your just trying to delay yourself from dieing until you can get hydras out) Pretty much just pump drones when you know he cant hurt you.

I recommend the zerg player named oGsZenio replays. Watch the replays in "Faster" speed and in First Person View. Observe carefully how he scouts, makes drones, macros, multitasks, etc. Good luck.
