I drafted for a 600$ ~ money league in a offline / live format yesterday. (We used paper and pencil for most of the draft, some of my picks were flawed to my lack of prep).
I'm not -too- happy with my results, I felt like a failed on capitalizing on a few players who slipped down in the draft (CJ Spiller, Jahvid Best for example) but I think I'm okay, it's a 12 team format with QB 3 WR 2 RB TE Flex WR/RB Flex TE/WR K DEF
Round 1-17 - Pick #3: 1) Maurice Jones-Drew - (No brainer for top 3 -CJ and AP went 1-2)
2) Greg Jennings - (Hindsight, this was a rushed pick & I wanted the pick before Greg, Randy Moss.)
3) Lesean Mccoy - (Meh pick at best, I tried to fix this later in the draft).
4) Joe Flacco -(9 of the 12 owners picked QBs at this point and I wanted an Elite QB before they were all taken - our league is QB friendly with 6 pt TDs and fractional points awarded for Passing yards).
5) Wes Welker -(I saw him do good in pre-season, thus I decided it was a decent round 5 pick).
6) Chris Cooley - (I'm a huge fan of TEs in the Washington passing game, Mcnabb has Cooley as his #1 target in preseason).
7) Eddie Royal - The only decent receiver in Denver, as long as he has a better season then last than I'm happy with this pick.
8) Justin Forsett - I planned to Handcuff him in the Later Rounds with Leon Washington.
9) Santonio Holmes - Finally I get a break and one of the bigger steals in the draft for a guy that's out for 4 games. So far my WRs are looking solid. I'm guessing the other owners saw "Out for 4 Games" and let him fall this far.
10) Lawrence Maroney - Not a huge fan of the Pats running game for obvious reason, but there were little split-time running backs left at this point.
11) Mike Williams (Tampa Bay) - I've read great reviews and that he's the #1 receiver in Tampa Bay, if he can produce even 3/4th's of the same numbers as Antonio Bryant this will work out as a good Flex pick.
12) Mike Bell - Handcuff for Lesean Mccoy, I figure my weakest spot on my team is RBs thus I'm going to handcuff both Philly & Seattle's running games.
13) Chad Henne - Back-up qb, I figure he -might- be a sleeper.
14) Leon Washington - Handcuff for Justin Forsett, possible Waiver wire Flex pick.
15) Pittsburgh Defense - Best available Def at this point.
16) New Orleans Defense - Not sure what to do with my last round picks.
17) David Buehler - I'm a USC fan, I'm hoping he delivers.
Starting Lineup roughly:
QB Joe Flacco RB MJD RB Lesean Mccoy WR Greg Jennings WR Wes Welker WR Eddie Royal TE Chris Cooley Flex(RB/WR) Justin Forsett Flex(TE/WR) Mike Williams (Going to replace with Santonio Holmes) DEF Pittsburgh
BN Leon Washington BN Mike Bell BN Santonio Holmes BN New Orleans BN Chad Henne BN Need to Fill with WR
What do you all think? I really think my WRs were solid, I might pick up a waiver WR just in case to fill my backups - during bye weeks I use my waiver wire slots to fill those picks so this roster is Tentative at best. My running backs were OK, I tried to fix this as much as possible. I'm happy with my QBs at least. This draft was mediocre at best but I'm going to play the waivers as best as I can this season.

HELL YEA JOE FLACCO! im from baltimore, so flacco is like a hero here atm, i support this team just bc of flacco ^^ also fun fact Joe's little brother Mike Flacco is currently in the AAA farm team for the Orioles (ik theyre terrible BUT having the Flacco brothers at the head of Baltimore sports would be insane ^^)

It's a deep draft, I actually faired very well considering that I managed to get a bunch of 2nd tier receivers yet #1 receivers. My only #2 receiver is Wes Welker but, he happens to be the best #2 in the NFL.
Usually in our league, 3rd tier receivers are more common then anything. If anything I had the best WR draft among the 12 teams in our league if I were to compare everyone else's picks.
The only thing I would of changed would of been Calvin Johnson or Miles Austin before Greg Jennings - but at that point in the draft Megatron was taken 2 picks before me and It was a coin toss between Jennings vs Miles Austin at that point.

Your WRs are pretty trashy, but other than that pretty good. Mike Williams would be half way decent if TB actually had a QB to take advantage of it, but their QBs are pretty lackluster, maybe they'll improve.
Good luck in your league, mine's coming up tomorrow.

jesus, your league has a lot of players on the active roster

You have to start 8 players at WR/RB/TE and you took Joe Flacco in round 4? Insanity. You could have grabbed Favre, Eli Manning, or McNabb in round 10 with the same expected value.

totally 100% off topic... I am good friends with this guy! We went to high school together. He fucking CRUSHED everyone in the high school league. He was the star player, Passing, running, he even received the kicks...SO many kick-off TD returns.
I remember our senior year, the state finals, we were up by a field goal, and the other team had posession with like a minute or so left. They threw a pass into the end zone and fking Eddie Royal intercepted the shit out of that bitch and won us the State Football game. Ah, good times. I miss high school sometimes.
anyhow. Sort of on topic, I'm really looking forward to football this year...hopefully the deadskins (I live just outside of DC) aren't so shit this year. Here's to hoping!

Looks terrible to me.. Jennings was a lot worse last year, largely not even his fault because of Rodgers/offensive line issues. Not a huge fan of McCoy. Flacco in the 4th round? Yeesh... not a fan of Royal either, you really don't want to be placing hopes on a guy who is suspended for 4 games and is pretty mediocre all around to begin with (Holmes)? As they say.. you can't win leagues with the first few rounds, but you sure can lose them.

Does your league give you points for catches? If it does i can see why you got Welker
I love MJD as first pick though

I really don't like rounds 2 and 3. the rest looks pretty good.
I draft in a money league in like a week and a half. I'm nervous cuz I haven't really read up on shit this year yet I've been lazy. Don't even know any of the rookies either lol.
By the way for anyone whos into fantasy sports and stuff I'm staff over at some amazing forums for fantasy football: fantasycafe.com (fantasy sports site that has huge forums for fantasy football, hockey, and basketball) awesome place for tons of fantasy football talk/leagues/games highly recommend for free advice/info if you don't want to pay for like football guys (which is really good too btw but u have to pay)

There was this effect in our league that after people started drafting QBs and flacco happened to be the best qb left. Farve and Mcnabb were taken, I'm not a huge fan of Eli Manning with his WRs thin and young this season.. Like I said, our league is qb favored mainly due to 6 pt tds and fractional points awarded thus I feel Flacco was worth it when his WRs are mason/boldin/stallworth/heap .. seems like a huge year for him.
