I'd like to thank TLO for showing me such an amazing strategy.
It's an amazing strategy, really. Against protoss or zerg, they usually don't opt to get detection that early, so I can just nuke them instead of EMPing.
But against terran, I love it so much. They don't bother to get ravens/engi bay because they scout a reactor on my Starport (which is actually for a medivac). But little do they know, there's a nuke silo off in the corner of the map.
I love how the EMP fires off, leaving them energy-less, and then follow up with a nuke. It's even better when I do it in two simultaneous spots, so neither Orbital Command can scan. And to rub it in, if they lift off their CC, they float it away, I just move my cloaked ghost under their spot and sit it there until it's about 10 energy, then I evac it.

And so I told myself, I'll do this in placement matches. So I did it in 3v3 randoms. 3 out of 4 games it worked. That last game I was hit by proxy gates, 6 pool, and proxy rax, but no matter. That 5th placement I accidentally played protoss and won, then ended up placing #100 in Platinum 3v3 Randoms.

Why does TLO get credit for everything -_- Yeah it's a cute strategy, and of course it will work against noobs almost all the time, they don't even know how to get detection.

Another fun strategy to pull off in 4v4s is to have a Zerg player mass Infestors and mass burrowcast Infested Terrans in base. Superiorwolf's done it a lot in 4v4s I played with him XD

Yeah I heard there was this guy named SlayerS`Fighter or something in Bw, he EMP'd a Nexus and killed it with a nuke it was insane!
That was many years ago.

Well in my case, I only started getting into starcraft during the beta and I did not play bw, so maybe thats why so many people are jizzin in their pants

ive actually never seen this, because it seems kind of pointless to sac a science vessel to take energy away, unless its a desperate wraith attack.

i've never seen anyone emp a comsat. by the time you even get to stage where you could have vessels you really should have 3base or more or you've probably lost...

I'm fairly certain boxer did it to someone. In any case, it's just common knowledge. It even made it into the famous comics of Nada vs Mr.X.
