I heard about the BrainClan server a long time ago but I was never really interested in it because iCCup always pleased me 100%. But lately its been harder and harder to find games because of SC2, so Joekim helped me download the launcher and make an account. Unfortunately, though, you have to wait 10 hours after you've made the account before you can start laddering 1v1. (That is 10 hours logged onto brainclan)
You can, however, play 2:2 ladder, and there is even a 3:3 ladder which is quite amazing. So far I am pleased with the ladder, the LAN latency is much better than iCCups somehow, but the downside is that its 100% korean so I can forsee some trouble finding games (maybe).
Overall I am quite excited about it though, I need all the options for practice that I can if I want to win the last WCG USA for bw 
Now to just idle or play 2v2 for 10 hours until I can 1v1! blah..

To play on ~BRAINCLAN SERVER~
go here -> http://brainclan.com/main2.htm
once you are on the site, look to the very left hand side. You should see 2 download buttons, the top one looks like a registry box, and the bottom one has some korean words and a green background. Click on the bottom one with the green background; download it and install it. (before you install, make sure bw is off completely, go into task manager -> processes and look for broodwar.exe; make sure it is off) This is the minilauncher, similar to iccup launcher.
Open the minilauncher. When you open it you should see 4 boxes on the left hand side of the window. They are labeled as such:

L..
T..
A..
Click on L.. -> On the very right hand side of this window you should see 2 boxes with korean lettering (they are the same size) click on the top one. it will open a window, now all you need to do is open your starcraft folder and click on broodwar.
After you've done this you should be all ready to go. go back to the L.. window, and press the button on the bottom right of the window to start. Brainclan server should then be in your server list already. gl hf!
Hopefully you all can follow this - I would post pictures to make it easier to follow but im not good with posting pictures.
Oh also, once on the brainclan server you can make a name how you normally would on uswest/useast etc. But as I said earlier you have to wait 10 hours before you can play 1v1.

yeah i used to play there
also FISH SERVER is another good server
they're much better than iccup
i think more progamers train on brain clan than iccup

Well, im sure that there are plenty of koreans that play brainserver that are like D level, but I can't be sure until I am allowed to go into the ladder 1:1 channel. Joekim and I played 4 2v2's so far and won them all, and im not even a 2v2 player; so I think overall the skill level is probably comparable to iccup - except it seems that the brain server is much more active right now.

There is also Fish server, I think it's still running at least, I played a Korean on iCCup recently who was fucking amazing, totally owned me, I asked him his max rank and he said this was his first iCCup season, had been playing on Fish before.

I would also like for someone to translate those instructions from an installer, because I think I just installed a bunch of bullshit that comes additionally with the Launcher -.-
There was some options to turn things off but it's all in Korean...

are you running on vista? bc i've been trying to get brain to work for the past few months but some error always occurs and i crash whenever i try to log in. i even tried to do the config that they had on the site but it still didn't work
also- brain is known for their 2v2 hunters or 3v3 hunters. they are much better at hunters than the iccup players.

Yeah, that's why I wanna play Hunters there ^^
I uninstalled bunch of those shit that their launcher installed (only left Minilauncher) and I can launch game normally, but the server is not on the list.
I would add their registry file that you can download on their page, but I'm afraid if it will mess up my Gateways list.
Does someone know server's address and time they're using so I can add their gateway manually?

Well I don't have Korean fonts installed so all I see is some squares. Maybe someone with korean fonts can post pics.

You have to import the registry file (the one above the Green picture file you download on BrainClan). Save it to your Desktop, then go to Start --> Run --> type in 'regedit'. Go to File --> Import and find the file and select it, then you'll be able to see the server on your list.
Unfortunately for me, my BW crashes whenever I select the BrainClan server tt

I just followed the instructions. Got Mini and the brain server in my list and I have two problems.
It erases my iCCup gateway and I am unable to connect to Brain. Any ideas anyone?

When I try to download mini-install.exe it says there is a virus inside this program, namely Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk]. Have you encountered that problem?

I could never find a reliable installer for Fish Server, made me sad because i really wanted to play on it =[

I'm curious to try out Brainclan, but the installer is downloading incredibly slow (2 BITS per second) (My internet is 10MB/s
Should I just try out Fish server if it is similar? I really don't want to wait 1 hour for an installer, lol.
Edit: Nevermind, the source is same in the fish website so it is just as slow... Guess I'll just have to wait then
