Does anyone have an idea why Blizzard preferred F5-8, and now F8-F11 for camera saves? F1-4 or F2-4 seems like obvious choice to me. What could be the motivation for this change?

to start with (ignoring the quality OP) F1 is for idle workers and F2-Fx are for heroes. so i think thats the reasoning behind it.

ohhhh so they did change it. i thought my f5 f6 f7 keys were broken lol

i suppose 8-11 makes it more right side of the keyboard. 1-4 would be nice for the left hand, but they want it for other functions like green.at said.

8-11 accomodates ppl with even small hands. i still used the right ctrl button since, being easier for 5-8, but nwo it's exclusively 8-11. i'm actually quite happy with it.

1-4 seems logical, but it actually is sort of awkward on your hands and wrist to use the left ctrl button.

8-11 will push me towards going to the right of the keyboard more.

pllus the separate btw 8 and 9 helps to tell apart the buttons physically as well. f6 and f7 can be hard to tell apart purely by sense of touch.

Go to Options>Hotkeys and look up what the keys F1-F4 does. I'am sure you can find a reason behind it by just looking at what the mentioned keys are binded to.
But yea, I'd rather have the F1-F4 too.

Except that F9-F11 overlap with the menu hotkeys and thus don't work. I've reported this twice now:

If you care about this, I think the best thing to do would be to try and get Blizzard's attention via their official forums.
