It looks like i will stick around at this site, no other international community site looks like it even comes close to TL when it comes to quality of content and pure activity, so I thought it would be nice to keep a blog here just so I have some place to put some random thoughts and note to self that will not fit on the forum.

I. Am. No. Fan. Of. Short. Sentences.

What I am though, is a complete and utter noob when it comes to competitive online RTS in general, and the whole Starcraft franchise in special, the last Blizzard game I played was Warcraft 2 back in 1998 or so.

I am 32 years old, and currently live in Bergen in western Norway. I work with programming and other technical tasks in a thriving company, which is nice.

My field of online gaming has been FPS, I started with Counterstrike beta 0.6 when i started college in 2000, and never looked back. When Battlefield 1942 was released in 2002 I was instantly hooked, and got deeply engaged in that beautiful, beautiful game.

I was a part of the Battlefield.no community from the start, and also served as the CL of norwegian clan GPS.C, as well as co-captain of the first norwegian team in the Clanbase Nations cup. Hundreds of clanwars, scrimms and countless hours on the battlefield.no servers later, my education ended in 2004 and my competitive gaming dwindled until coming to a complete stop in 2006. It was a deeply satisfying experience though, and the golden age of Battlefield 1942 from 2002 to 2004 must have been one of the best gaming communities to ever exist. :D

Completely agree with you about sticking to TL. I go over to Blizzard forums.

1st thread I read "Why are ghosts overpowered? My opponents two ghosts emped my chargelots and I died to marauders. Blizzard should nerf ghosts because they are totally unfair"

2nd thread I read was just as bad. After washing my eyes out with 12M HCl, I happily returned

I am actually not sure just how i stumbled upon TL, but as soon as I was convinced of the quality of SC2, I wanted to find a great community, and I am certainly glad I found this place. It will be so exciting to see the SC2 community spring to life once the game has been released, when you think of the activity there is already during the beta.

Of course, too huge influx of new members can be problematic for a community, we certainly felt some of that with Battlefield.no when Battlefield 2 was released in 2005. I feel that TL seems to be well prepared though, the site has a very clear and sensible set of rules, and the moderator work going on is top notch.
