Okay so 2 choices now:

http://www.amazon.com/Shure-Professional-Studio-Headphones-Black/dp/B002DP1FTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278763502&sr=8-1-catcorr

and

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V6-Monitor-Headphones-Voice/dp/B00001WRSJ/ref=pd_cp_e_2

The shure one has sturdier look and from all the reviews I read the two are almost same sounding. Sony is a classic thou so I don't know T_T

Despite people not liking them...some people anyways... I've had a pair of Audio Technica headphones for almost 2 years now. Obviously a discontinued model but they have over-ear (not on or in ear) headphones that are in a decent price ranges and are durable as heck.

I hate to be that guy, but I work in the professional audio/visual industry...assuming you want studio-ish headsets, we sell alot of ATs, Sennheisers (overpriced imo), Shure, and offer Sonys. I'd go for AT or Shure but those are more of a professional studio headset than anything else. Just stay away from Bose. >< You pay way too much for the sound quality you get out of them. Lots of people live by them but...my personal opinion is bleh.

Do you mean headphones? AT just stands for `audio technica`

A lot of people seem to recommend these:

http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-Audiophile-Headphones-Neodymium/dp/B000CMS0XU

They're really big apparently, and go over your entire ear. (also open air, meaning people can hear what you are listening to and you can hear a bit of ambient noise)

Sorry. AT = Audio Technica, like he said.

Don't like it. Looks cheap (I'm sure it's not) but the different colors on it turns me off.
I want solid black, solid like a rock where u can throw it around it'll never break.

The frame on those Audio Technica's are alloyed. You could probably throw em out the window and they'd be intact. Maybe not the speakers inside but the frame would be!

Audio Technica makes some similar ones that are all black. The Shures you linked don't look too bad, I haven't used a pair myself but most places rate them pretty high.

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-280-Pro-Professional/dp/B000065BPB/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1278764071&sr=1-1

That's a really good price for a good set of headphones. The problem with Senn's though is that they snug up on your head a little tighter than normal - to keep outside sound out. I think maybe your best bet is to pick 3 or 4 sets, and start reading up on reviews. Durability, Sound quality, so on. Sometimes headphones will have GREAT bass and GREAT vocals but midrange will suck balls and high-end things like cymbals will get tinny or hissy.

In Hungry Hungry Hippos there are no such constraints—one can constantly attempt to collect marbles with one’s hippo, limited only by one’s hippo-levering capabilities.

They seem to have pretty good reviews, and nothing seems "bad" about the specs. Just make sure if you buy those headphones, to buy the little adapter thingy for the stereo mini to the 1/4 inch jack, as it doesn't come with the headphones.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PC-234S-Audio-Plug-Adaptor/dp/B000095SA6/ref=pd_sim_e_1

That thing.

That's actually the pair I own :> (the one you most recently linked) I love em to bits; I heard that they can last years. Long cable cord, they're also not too bulky to the point where it's troublesome to move around but still sound very very good. Also very comfortable, but can get kind of irritating after ~2 hours (like most headphones). They seem to be on sale too from amazon, they usually go for ~$100. After using a decent pair of headphones like those, I don't think I could ever go back to crappy ear buds.

I use these as monitors when producing music and for listening...they are, simple put, fucking pro. Best sounding headphones i've ever worn under 300$, beat the shit out of 280's (brutally). I've had mine for a bit more than a year now without a scratch or problem. buy them.

lol, when you see someone making blanket statement about every headphone made by a manufacturer and claim all headphones in the 70-100$ price range "sits on your ear and are uncomfortable" you know you are dealing with an audio pro.

Also, the headband is made out of metal with metal hinges, good luck breaking it.

Oh it's METAL!!!
NICE!
I fucking love metal!

I'm bit concerned the joints where the bridge(on the top) connects to the oval "speakers" that connects to your ear, you say those are metal hinges there? And that cup thing connected to the metal thing is metal too?
