Everyone knows Youtube is littered with terribad Naruto AMVs synched to some Linkin Park song. However, sometimes you come across real gems. I always regret not archiving them and they often go unappreciated by anime enthusiasts.
An excellent AMV does not just have a good song edited with crisp video sequences, but enforces the identity of the anime and its characters.
Here are some of my favorites that I’ve encountered and thankfully remembered:
DN@ - W.U.N
Anime: Soul Eater Song: Styles of Beyond – Nine Thou
Nice to see some Soul Eater, it has been a long time. I liked the begging very much. Too bad that there were no scenes from the final episode (or at least I saw none). I don't watch a lot of AMVs, as I am generally rather disappointed by those. I like this one however:
Anime: Mai Hime Song: Mix of Lux Aeterna (Clint Mansell) and Requiem for a Tower (which is a remix of Lux Aeterna)
Don't have a dl link.
If you don't know the anime, the video basically sums up the first half of the series. That's when the real story starts to unfold.
By far the most fitting AMV is Lordi's Blood Red Sandman with Naruto's Gaara (sorry OP if u hate Naruto AMVs)
here's a random VOD, since i cannot find the original one in which he fights kimimaro till the end, whic i really liked, but w/e, this one looked decent too
oh, i think i found it, after i gave up hope, im not sure though, it looks newer
there was a really good one of Elfen Lied sync'd to 'Blue' by The Birthday Massacre. excellent animation and effects, I think it won some big contest or something.
a lot of these editors have a lot talent but a lot of them go way overboard in the effects department, and it ends up feeling like a trailer for their editing software as opposed to the show itself.
this is probably the best i've seen (amazing film btw):
Sadly, I don't like anime in general but only naruto and hellsing, so all I can tell here that I hate this flood of AMVs if I want to seek a certain scene. Most AMVs just take a scene and remove all of it's dramatics, jokes or emotions by stripping it off the original sound. And these are the things I like of those certain animes, not the pure visuals. Most AMVs are only suitable for those who have the same taste of music as the creator and like the general visuals of the certain anime...
However, those AMVs of the opening post are an exeption of that thanks to the nice cutting work and at least not limited to very extreme tastes of music . You didn't lie when you called them real gems amongst lots of trash
