I'm sure its been looked at by doctors, and it's unfair to say that he should do ANYTHING social- because none of us have any idea what that is like. Must be hell. Makes me feel very lucky. Only thing, I can think of, which is sad... become some sort of musician or painter or writer and dedicate your life to the art. Make something no one else could. Plenty of "normal" looking people do this, and it keeps them occupied. Hopefully he can lose himself in something like that. It's what I like to think I would do. | ||

maybe he can start a shelter for other ugly people? honestly, the teacher's exam isn't that hard. how can he not pass it twice. he needs to get his ass in gear and study hard or something. honestly, no matter how dumb you are, if you work hard, you can do reasonably well in the education system. I'm guessing that he's just too depressed which is affecting his study skills. hook him up with some fat ugly girlfriend who is just as desperate as he is. once people get some sexy action, they start doing better. | ||

He sits at home and looks online for job postings all day, which is in my opinion, the saddest thing I have ever heard of. I'm about to spend the rest of my summer looking online for jobs and playing Starcraft (2?), why is this sad? <_< I think Jason just needs a hobby. Google... Dude, that's over 40cm... Does he have to carry it with his hand or wrap some support around it? I can't even imagine how he lives his life - I would suggest contacting and hopefully getting surgery from top surgeons (make it an exemplary/study case). The risk of death from hemorrhaging is there, but if I was in his situation I would more than gladly take that risk. | ||

He should read various literature on loving-kindness and equanimity. Life gives you lessons so one can learn from them and become a better person, as long as one is willing. 3.) Anyhow, I think you first need to understand there's very little you can do for him. He's one of those extremely unlucky people that wont be very successful or happy in life. Sure you can tell him to change his perspective and his mindset, but the bottom line is that he has a 1.5foot mass on his face, and in today's society with that sort of physical handicap it'll near impossible for him to succeed socially, which is apparent since his only friend is your brother. Due to this social disability his job prospects are extremely low, and it'll eventually result in him taking a job because the job choose him, not because he choose the job(ie. he didn't have any other choice). This will lead to a lack of self confidence(which he probably already has) and self worth, which will lead to an extremely unhappy individual. The only thing he can do, as already stated, is attempt to get rid of the mass. The risk is worth it. | ||

that is certainly very severe, but I would expect that at least 1 out of a million people(totally random guess, could be much higher) have some kind of freakish deformity either naturally or due to injury/disease there are a lot of people in the world im sure most of them are loners. some of them have probably had terrible lives. and in some harsher places to live im sure some have been terrorized, ostracized, or killed. | ||
